Job Title: Sr. Java Developer

Duration: 45 Days (contract)

Location: Denver, CO (Remote, Candidate Must Be Local & should reside in Colorado )

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications using Java technologies, including J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, and Oracle.
• Develop APIs/RESTful services for seamless integration between systems and components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Implement front-end features using Angular and modern web technologies for responsive and user-friendly interfaces.
• Develop back-end features, including data models and business logic, using Java technologies.
• Debug and resolve software defects and production issues promptly.
• Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to junior team members.
• Participate in the software development life cycle from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
• Improve software development processes and practices for efficient delivery of high-quality software.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Java software development with full-stack expertise.
• Proficiency in Java technologies, J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot.
• Experience with front-end technologies, Angular, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly Oracle.
• Experience developing APIs/RESTful services using Java.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Knowledge of software development best practices and agile methodologies.
• Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn new skills quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with performance optimization of Java applications.
• Familiarity with other front-end technologies like React, Vue.js, or Ember.js.
• Understanding of security best practices in software development.
• Experience with DevOps practices and automated testing.

Scope of Work:

• Work with the Department of Human Services Child Support Application on implementing solutions outlined by OIT.
• Apply secure programming techniques using OIT technical standards and best practices.
• Coordinate activities and communications with various teams to resolve urgent production incidents.
• Perform regular health checks and analysis on production platforms.
• Develop solutions for enterprise platform metrics and monitoring tools.
• Generate and track tickets for production trouble incidents and change requests.
• Provide leadership for rapid resolution of business-impacting issues affecting production systems.
