Sr. Java Developer

Description

Cognizant Technology Solutions is looking for a Sr. Java Developer with 5+ years of experience.

Duration: Full Time only

Location: Charlotte, NC (Remote)

Job Description and Qualifications include: (This is a hands-on development role)

Required:

• 5-8 years of experience in Web Application Development and production support.
• Primary skillset includes Java/J2EE, Spring, Autosys, Unix and SQL.
• Secondary skillset Spring batch and Data Stage.
• Conducts requirements gathering and analysis to understand the domain of the software problem and/or functionality, the interface between hardware and software and the overall software characteristics.
• Uses programming, scripting and/or database language to write software code.
• Consults with systems engineers and architects on developing information technology (IT) standards for the business while facilitating the translation of client requirements into technical designs for large IT solutions.
• Conduct batch execution.
• Review the work of other developers and provide feedback.
• Prior experience in handling the customer relationship/Technical Project management responsibilities.
• Experience within an Agile/SAFE development environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good troubleshooting skills including cross browser and accessibility issues.
• Ability to learn new technologies and skills quickly.
• Interact with customers and provide timely and prompt updates to business, manager and other stake holders.

Education and Additional Skills:

• Computer Science Degree or equivalent college education.
• Should have experience with working in large development projects.
• Should have the ability coordinate across multiple teams.
• Be nimble in handling and delivering fast moving projects with very minimal supervision.
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.

The annual salary for this position is depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
