About Cognizant's Digital Engineering Practice:

At Cognizant Digital Engineering, a small cross functional team comprised of a Product Manager, an Architect, Full-Stack Developers, UI/UX designers and Big Data analysts builds higher quality software faster siloed individuals working independently. Small, nimble engineering teams generate collective empathy and comradery, thus increasing their ability to anticipate unforeseen development scope changes and maintain high quality deliverables. Across our US Studio system or within client development sites, our Digital Engineering teams ideate and develop innovative cloud-based solutions following a Lean-Agile process with DevOps culture. The Role:

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Java Full Stack Engineer to serve our diverse base of global clients. As a member of our team, you will build cutting edge, cloud-based software that powers modern business. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a diverse, collaborative, geographically distributed team. Similarly, the candidate is an experienced engineer who values the "team", drives continuous improvement and is unafraid to challenge the legacy status quo with creative cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for delivering software using Agile development practices with a skill combination of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, APIs, Cloud Platforms.
• Helping team troubleshoot day-to-day integration issues with other applications.
• Participate in scrum of scrum meetings and resolve dependencies.
• Formulate code check-in policies in enterprise GIT.
• Recommend appropriate tools / accelerators for the team.
• Leverage deep knowledge of SQL programming and database architecture to build high availability applications.
• Guide in the full SDLC delivering high-volume, low-latency, scalable and reliable applications.
• Write well-designed, testable, efficient code.
• Ensure design follows specifications and deliver superior engineering outcomes.
• Work in a team environments and mentor the junior team members.
• Strong contributor with a collaborative work style in building, crafting, and reviewing code.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of coding experience in Java, Microservices, Spring Boot.
• Must have expertise in Kafka.
• Skilled in Angular technologies, including Angular 9-12 and Angular Js.
• Enterprise experience with SQL or MySQL databases.
• Hands-on knowledge in JavaScript.
• Proficient in building presentation layer using via UI presentation frameworks/languages.
• Desire to learn new technologies in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
• Possesses engineering and consulting attitude to help build transformational cloud ready software.
• Excellent communication skills and participates actively in team discussions.

Nice to have skills: • AWS knowledge • Microsoft Azure Cloud

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position depends on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
