Associate Comms
The Associate Communications job is responsible for the review and implementation of employee communications policies and programs within the organization. Working under limited supervision, this job utilizes a variety of communication tools to help drive employee engagement and ensure that employees understand the company's mission, strategy, policies and performance.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Reviews a range of organization-wide and business line-specific materials in traditional print form, electronically or through online technologies, e.g., newsletters, brochures, handbooks, conference and seminar materials, and benefit and compensation communications.
- Ensures employees are well-informed of compensation, benefits and other internal programs and policies.
- Reviews function-specific documents and ensures they are written appropriately for the targeted audience and comply with organization style guidelines.
- Delivers the organization's internal communication strategy so that employees can rapidly identify, send, receive, and understand information.
- Supports internal project teams on approaches for effective employee communications.
- Contributes to planning and executes communication plans and strategies in line with broader messaging strategy that is aligned with internal branding to help educate, inform and engage employees.

As a member of the Enterprise Associate Communications team, the individual in this position will oversee communications operations for several business areas (Retirement, OCOO, Product & Business Development, Digital & Client Experience, Nuveen) and help execute the delivery of clear, compelling and visually engaging communications to inform and educate associates on the company's strategy, programs and initiatives. Reports to Senior Director, Enterprise Communication Channels, Events and Operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage two direct reports who provide operations / communications channels support to various lines of business.
- Format and distribute email announcements enterprise-wide and to the associate population within OCOO using Poppulo (our HTML-based system) and program COO articles on the intranet homepage
- Help manage the logistical planning and execution of events, including leader-led town halls, for the lines of business
- Assist with writing, editing and proofreading communications as needed to ensure accuracy, quality and consistency of messaging
- Create and administer online surveys and polls to gather feedback from associates and take the pulse of the organization on a variety of topics; summarize survey feedback and themes for sharing with leaders
- Ensure that TIAA editorial guidelines are enforced in every communication
Required Qualifications:
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Experience with Poppulo and SharePoint intranet platforms preferred
Base Pay Range: $92,400/yr. - $154,000/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
