Overview & Impact:

Samsung Semiconductor Inc. is hiring a Sr. Customer Engineering Manager in our Bellevue, WA office.  The Sr. Customer Engineering Manager will act as the primary technical account interface with one of Samsung’s key Cloud customers and will work closely with Samsung technical, marketing, and sales teams to align technical and business initiatives for this customer. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with customer to vet their technical specifications and ensure Samsung technical teams understand and align on these specifications for new SSD products.
  • Facilitate/strengthen technical communication between the customer and Samsung Engineering teams.
  • Develop customer relationship and achieve customer satisfaction through quick and thorough response to customer requests.
  • Act as first line of response for customer technical and engineering requests related to SSDs for Cloud business.
  • Partner with engineering and business groups at customer and Samsung to ensure new product introduction activities are meeting the schedule and technical requirements.
  • Stay abreast of the latest technology development in Flash Semiconductor, SSD, and Cloud Storage as they relate Samsung offerings.
  • Learn, understand, and document customer's roadmap and technical objectives.  Present this technical trend data to key Samsung personnel such as Technical Marketing and Product Planning teams for use in establishing Samsung's global product strategy. 
  • Present Samsung's technical trend information and roadmaps to customer's key engineers and management.  Work with them to assure that their future product demands are congruent with Samsung’s future product offerings.  Attempt to negotiate any deviations.  Escalate any unresolved discrepancies, both at customer and Samsung.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with Key design/development engineers and managers.  This is accomplished thru daily interactions and providing exceptional customer support.  This is critical as it assures that Samsung interests are adequately represented in the customer's decision making process.  Maintain relationships at the higher level management to assure proper attention to escalations.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor Degree required.  Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering strongly recommended.  
  • Five years of technical experience with SSDs and Flash component technology.
  • Experience working directly with SSD Cloud Storage customers.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills is a must. This role requires frequent communication with the Customer to understand their requirements and goals and then working with Samsung Technical team to communicate and align on these goals.
  • Must be proficient using Microsoft Windows, MS Office, Customer Management Systems.  
  • Medium level of travel required, est. 20%, both international and domestic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (or related engineering degree).
  • Ten years of direct technical experience with SSDs and Flash component technology.
  • Deep understanding of SSD industry specs such as NVMe, PCIe, and OCP.
  • Prefer experience with qualifying and validating SSD or Flash Technology products.
