The Senior Manager Data Science is managing the team responsible for leveraging industry leading tools in architecting data science solutions. This team is responsible for developing data visualizations, data engineering pipelines, machine-learning solutions to manage the operations of ensuring health of 2M+ technology assess at Cigna.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for mentoring, coaching. 70% of the time in mentorship.
- 30% of the time performing the job function of delivering data intelligent products.
- Demonstrates strategies and come up with solutions to resolve issues.
- Responsible to collaborate with all levels of management and communicate effectively a strategy regarding technology solutions and roadmap.
- Responsible for representing the Enterprise Operations Command Center (EOCC) organization in technology engineering guilds and collaborating with cloud COE to ensure alignment with Enterprise best practices
- Expected to follow team agreements and cadences
- Align with team Agile practices in ensuring smooth delivery and closely partner with team's Agile Product Manager
- Responsible to own, approve, manage and control access to critical EOCC products.
- Responsible for taking up the role of admin for key infrastructure components on shared Technology platforms.
- Demonstrates ability to communicate and drive product adoption to a broader audience.
- Is self-driven and ensures is in constant alignment with EOCC service offerings
- Demonstrates the ability to delegate as necessary to junior team members
- Help with identifying the right talent for the team in delivering on innovation roadmap
- Lead both technology and cultural change within EOCC and wider technology to ensure delivery of high quality products and reduce tech debt
- Consistently demonstrates ability to influence and collaborate across organizations and
Qualifications
- Undergrad in Engineering, or 7+ years of relevant experience; Masters in Data Sciences or related fields preferred
- Previous Management Experience.
- Strong technical experience with Python, Tableau, SQL, AWS or other cloud management desired.
- Ability to mentor a team. This includes, hire and grow
- Ability to detonate, improve empowerment and enablement with the team.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Has experience in leading and complete projects timely and effectively.
- Has experience and understanding of how this role will represent EOCC.
- Working experience-analyzing processes that need improvement (Technology Wide).
- Working experience using Service Now preferred.
- Experience using Reporting Skills - Business Analytics, Tableau
- Excellent Written Communications experience.
- Working experience using or knowledge of how metrics are used in all areas of the business.
