As a member of the Advisor Services Technology team, you will be immersed in a collaborative, fast-paced and technically complicated environment. We're looking for a people manager who is enthusiastic about applying both technology and Institutional business knowledge to support the development and future evolution of the AS platform.

The focus will be on people development, database SDLC practice improvements, maturing Agile practice, database operations, and continuous improvement on delivery.

You will:

  • Lead and manage a large team of database developers/operational staff/scrum masters, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure team success and individual growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, and implement database solutions that meet the needs of our business unit.
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) process, ensuring adherence to best practices, standards, and guidelines.
  • Implement Agile methodologies to streamline development processes, increase efficiency, continuous improvement, and foster collaboration within the team.
  • Supporting Operational IT teams providing 24/7 coverage for production support.
  • Building/managing highly efficient, empowered, motivated and well-organized teams.
  • Data Management and Analytics: understanding of data management principles, including data governance and ETL processes.
  • Provide leadership and support during system outages, incidents, and escalations, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact to business operations.

What you have

Required:

  • 10+ years of Institutional business domain knowledge and a strong grasp of RIA solutions and experience needs.
  • 8+ years people management experience within information technology.
  • 5+ years of managing teams of more than 10 members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and provide direct, timely performance feedback to team members.
  • Proficient leading multiple priorities in a dynamic, geographically dispersed environment.
  • Deep understanding of SDLC, agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze, propose and implement timely, cost effective, quality solutions for all issues or problems within area of responsibility.
  • Authoritative influencing, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with an ability to identify partners, assess their needs and handle their expectations through effective communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (includes ability to compose and deliver technical presentations or other forms of documentation to various levels of technical and non-technical management).
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for growth and development for team members.
  • Address employee relations issues, conflicts, and performance concerns in a fair and timely manner, in collaboration with HR and senior management.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages teamwork, collaboration, and innovation, as well as employee engagement, retention, and recognition.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in Project Management and Enterprise tools: JIRA, MS Project, MS Office, Confluence, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with managing applications with backends in MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL and Mongo DB(NoSQL).

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in application development and knowledge of design patterns is a plus.
  • Prior experience in systems administration (UNIX, Linux, or Windows) is a plus.
  • Prior experience in GCP, AWS and Azure cloud computing is a plus.
  • Certifications such as PMP, Agile, or relevant database certifications are a plus.
