Sr. Manager DEI at The Toro Company
We are thrilled to add this new position to our HR organization, at our TTC HQ in Bloomington, MN! This role will be responsible for building, strengthening and further defining the diversity, equity and inclusion strategy across our organization. As a thought leader, champion, change agent and subject matter expert, this position will help advance our efforts to realize a diverse, equitable inclusive workplace. In partnership with the Sr. Director of Talent Management & Development, will oversee the design, development and implementation of DEI strategies, programs, policies, and metrics and will act as a collaborative partner to senior leadership and business leaders to ensure DEI considerations are incorporated in decision-making processes. This position will be directly involved in the scaling of TTC's commitment to DEI to align with the business strategy, our culture, and our core company values.
What Will You Do?
- Oversee the development of long-range and annual diversity, equity and inclusion strategies in partnership with leadership across our organization and implements processes, programs, policies, and communications in order to meet those goals. This includes creating and delivering programs and training.
- Work with division, function, and site leadership to understand current and future workforce needs, and incorporates DEI priorities and strategies proactively based on business objectives.
- Partner within HR on talent management and development strategies for attracting, hiring, developing and retaining high-potential, qualified diverse talent for jobs at all levels within the organization. Aligns with Corporate Giving to leverage philanthropy efforts to further DEI efforts.
- Develop and implement key metrics to measure DEI initiatives and programs using systems and business strategies. Improve on these over time and makes recommendations based on the analysis of the data.
- Serves as a leader on TTC's DEI Committee, works closely with Employee Resource Groups in support of charters.
- Listen to and give voice to emergent issues of diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization, the local communities, and nationally as it affects the organization.
- Passionately represent the organization internally and externally on DEI related efforts as appropriate. Develops and recommends strategy for working with external communities and cultural organizations. Establishes relationships with culturally specific and marginalized communities, organizations and individuals interested in partnering on broader DEI initiatives.
- Network extensively with external peers, consultants and industry experts to stay current, benchmark, and determine best appropriate resources for the enterprise.
- Oversee EEO program administration. Manage DEI budget and spend.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent competencies and experience.
- 5+ years in the area of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategy in an organization with at least 3 in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of promoting, developing and facilitating successful DEI strategies and/or programs to all levels of employees throughout an organization.
- Experience and credibility collaborating with and influencing both senior leadership teams and front-line staff; mobilizes others into action around building more diverse, equitable and inclusive environments.
- Advanced understanding of talent management practices including talent acquisition and diversity sourcing that have yielded positive results.
- Demonstrated experience translating vision into executable strategy, and driving cross-functional teams to deliver against a plan.
- Leads with a strong action orientation, accountable to taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and positivity.
- Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and presentation skills. Can build trust, display empathy and facilitate courageous conversations.
