A Brief Overview
The Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Senior Manager is responsible for supporting the development, management and execution of innovative Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) initiatives and strategies across Stanford Health Care (SHC). In this role, the Senior Manager will deliver the DEI strategic business framework and roadmap that will enable the organization to progress on goals and objectives that advance a culture of inclusion, diversity and belonging for our employees and patients. They will identify and develop leading initiatives for SHC in partnership with HR, senior executives, other stakeholders and work cross-functionally across within the organization.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion best practices, processes and experience in creating sustainable and scalable internal and external programs in large health care systems serving multi-cultural employees, patients and communities. This position reports directly to the Executive Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.

What you will do
- Support the creation, implement and evaluate the DEI component of the SHC DEI strategic plan and business framework.
- Identify and lead innovative external strategic partnership program to attract, recognize, retain and advance a highly skilled and talented workforce.
- Create DEI learning solutions to increase inclusive competencies and habits for employees, managers and leaders in the organization.
- Design, lead, integrate and operationalize DEI programs, policies and processes in collaboration with SHC executive leaders.
- Utilize DEI research to develop evidence-based initiatives; benchmark other organizations and industries to identify applicable best practices.
- Lead internal collaborations to integrate DEI practices into core people practices and standard work across SHC system in alignment with the integrated DEI strategic business framework and roadmap.
- Provide subject matter expertise, strategic planning, change management, thought leadership and partnership to drive business outcomes.
- Initiative community partnerships and host virtual/live events for external partners and employees in areas where SHC has facilities and where our employees live.
- Develop metrics, regularly measure and analyze DEI progress (demographic data, focus groups, survey, etc.,), highlight areas of strength and areas of weakness, and identify action steps to improve weak areas.
- Drive culture change in support of SHC's ability to attract. develop and retain work class diverse talent and be response to patient and community needs
- Design, implement, execute and manage the DEI internal/external communication, messaging. marketing and branding through a variety of mediums that persuade, motivate and inspire as well, engage , amplify and expand our communities.
- Perform other duties as directed by Executive Director, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
- Manage and direct DEI Program Coordinator and interns
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience or Master's Degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
Experience Qualifications
- Seven (7) - ten (10) years of experience within a national or global platform. Related experience with a progressive record of furthering business strategies and creating best practices, establishing and managing community partnerships and strategic operational initiatives
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrated industry expertise in key areas and experience developing, implementing and operationalizing DEI programs.
- Strong consulting, collaboration and assessment skills for both individuals and organizations.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills for communicating and resolving conflict.
- Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to manage priorities, workflow and deadlines concurrently.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate and present to leadership and teams at all levels.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines within a complex environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to take charge, take unpopular stands if necessary and face challenging situations

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $72.49 - $96.06 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
