Job Description

Job Summary: 

Responsible for iHerb’s global product regulatory compliance. Expertise in international regulatory and compliance issues, with a focus on European Union (“EU”), and member country, regulations related to dietary supplements, foods, sports nutrition, and cosmetic products.  Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, the Sr. Manager European Regulatory & Compliance will be tasked with overseeing product compliance in the EU and other international markets.  


Job Expectations:

  • Expertise in technical regulations related to dietary supplements, foods, sports nutrition, and cosmetic products. 

  • Utilize expertise and research of applicable laws and regulations to develop a robust regulatory and compliance strategy for the EU and other key international markets.  

  • Collaborate with iHerb’s U.S. based legal and compliance team. 

  • Assist with Ad Hoc duties and projects


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with various EU, and member country, product regulations related to dietary supplements, foods, sports nutrition, and cosmetic products 

  • Ability to conduct global regulatory and compliance assessments via interpretation of existing regulations and applicable case law, with an initial focus on the EU

  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to navigate and establish regulatory/compliance prioritization based on direction from executive management

  • Assist in the development of a global compliance strategy.

  • Proactively identify potential international regulatory and compliance risks in iHerb’s key international markets  

  • Experience dealing with government and private agencies charged with oversight and enforcement of dietary supplements, foods, sports nutrition, and cosmetic product regulations. 

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience in effectively interacting, communicating with, and presenting concise analysis of compliance issues to senior management.

  • A hands-on approach with a focus on problem solving and finding creative solutions.

  • Experience with cross-border e-commerce sales.  

  • Attention to detail with accuracy

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Adaptability

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written)


Equipment Knowledge:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred


Experience Requirements:

  • Generally requires a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in EU product regulatory and compliance

  • Knowledge of regulations related to iHerb’s product categories


Education Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree in Regulatory Compliance or related field preferred, or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
