Sr. Manager, Flight Test Engineering

Supernal is at the forefront of creating emerging mobility solutions that will foster the development of human-centered cities. The Sr. Manager, Flight Test Engineering requires comprehensive management of flight test engineering (FTE) team through test planning, test execution, test reporting, Test Readiness and Flight Readiness Reviews. Also, develops and drives project and process plans, implements policies and procedures, and sets operational goals. This position requires frequent communication to varying levels of management to flow test results, request for resources, and address technical issues.

This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

• Partner with Chief Test Pilot to establish process and procedures for flight test engineering team
• Oversee flight test activities including test planning, test readiness reviews, test execution, and post test data analysis
• Collaborate with the Chief Test Pilot, program management and engineering teams to lead the development of flight test programs in support of program/project objectives
• Manage and develop processes to maintain flight test artifacts
• Provide technical oversight of flight test data analysis
• Develop and engage Flight Test Engineering team through coaching, mentoring, training and employee performance assessment
• Identify FTE team growth opportunities and assignments that best fit the needs of the team individuals and the company as a whole
• Other duties as assigned

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Flight Test Engineer graduate from a recognized test pilot school or equivalent experience
• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience supporting flight test or similar test programs (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managerial of team lead role
• Experience with electric propulsion testing preferred
• Experience with the FAA Type Certification process and the execution of certification flight testing preferred
• Experience with VTOL experimental flight test preferred
• Experience using relational data base with some programming skills, SQL, VB, C++, .NET preferred
• Demonstrated experience in leading experimental flight test programs through development and envelope expansion campaigns.
• Cross-functional domain knowledge in different technical area of aircraft with a strong background in flight test data analysis methodologies and tools
• Familiarity with and experience in aircraft design processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proactive delivery of communication and follow-up
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must have the ability to independently prioritize and accomplish work within time constraints
• Proficient in MS Suite Office Suite
