POSITION: Sr. Manager Plant Human Resources
REPORTS TO: Sr. Director Human Resources
Position Summary
The Plant Human Resources (HR) Team is responsible for providing overall HR support to plant employees and plant leaders and for leading employee and community engagement on behalf of Flagstone Foods. The Human Resources Manager owns and leads the HR function. The HR Manager will provide leadership and direction for recommending, implementing, and supporting practices necessary to drive the success of the Plant and will be a strategic business partner for the site. This individual will serve as a member of the Plant Senior Leadership Team and has a dotted-line reporting relationship with the Plant Manager and will serve as a key member of the Flagstone Foods Human Resources Team, supporting Company-wide projects as appropriate.
Essential Functions
- Oversee and manage day-to-day HR responsibilities for the Plant including, but not limited to employee relations, culture building, performance management, hiring, onboarding, employee records compliance, workforce planning, talent development, change management, employment law and compliance, and HR reporting.
- Manage a team of HR professionals at the facility.
- Recruit and hire salaried employees.
- Serve as the internal HR resource to Plant employees.
- Lead culture change by ensuring all Human Resources activities and practices align with the Company's vision and values.
- Provide sound advice and coaching to department managers on all people related areas.
- Develop positive working relationships with leaders to facilitate change and reinforce Company goals.
- Build effective relationships with functional leadership to understand their business goals and to proactively identify and implement solutions that align with organizational strategies.
- Lead talent management programs, including performance review cycle tracking, individual development plans, and succession planning.
- Partner with planning and production in daily, weekly, monthly staffing.
- Identify opportunities to optimize business processes to create efficiencies for the Plant and HR team.
- Ensure compliance with all Federal and State laws relating to such policies as EEO, FMLA, FLSA, Human Rights, ERISA, OSHA, I9 etc.
- Participate in staff meetings to ensure an integrated business partnership and strong link with strategy and the direction of the business.
- Leverage systems to provide relevant reports and data to support HR and business initiatives.
- Ability to critically analyze HR data for identifying trends and preparing HR plans (i.e., performance management tracking, vacancy reports, HR scorecard, retention rates, etc.).
- Participate in various HR projects as required.
- Demonstrate tact and diplomacy and maintain discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee data.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
- Bachelor's degree in HR or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Human Resources Certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 12-years of experience in Human Resources.
- Demonstrated experience of at least 5-years as an HR Manager for a Manufacturing site.
- Food industry experience preferred.
- Curiosity and drive to learn key factors to drive success in safely delivering quality product at a competitive cost.
- Experience and aptitude with HRIS, preferably with ADP.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook).
- Strong customer service, relationship building, problem solving and follow-up skills.
- Thorough understanding of the HR Body of Knowledge.
- Thorough knowledge of current trends and issues in Human Resources Management.
- Demonstrates tact and diplomacy and maintains discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive employee data and information.
- Demonstrated execution and project management skills in a dynamic environment with competing demands on time and resources.
- Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels within the organization.
- Excellent organizational management skills.
- Ability to analyze data, prepare effective proposals and reports and make recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a matrix reporting structure.

FLSA Designation: This position is a Salaried Exempt and not eligible for overtime.
