Job Overview

The Sr. Manager, Identity Preserved Certifications will lead and manage compliance to standards in policy, process, and specifications for assurance of all Identity Preserved (IP) Certifications (Organic, Kosher, Fair Trade, Rain Forest Alliance, etc.), as well as the administrative processes required for applicable Hot and Cold KDP sites. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and expansion of best practices in the areas of IP Certification and supports our leadership position in the beverage industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the development, implementation, verification, and validation of our Organic Compliance Plans (in accordance with the USDA NOP).
  • Manage the performance and development of one or more direct reports.
  • Act as the principal liaison in the relationship with all certification bodies (Organic, Kosher, Rain Forest Alliance, Fair-Trade and other relevant certifying entities).
  • Collaborate with other Beverage Quality resources (Site Quality Managers, R&D Product Developers, New product innovation group including packaging, corporate sustainability and Marketing), to continuously improve our capacity and capability to ensure products meet specifications and conform to all relevant certification program requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and records associated with the Identity Preserved status of all applicable products and facilities.
  • Work with the Manufacturing sites and brand Marketing to clarify specifications and reporting required by the individual certification programs to ensure compliance.
  • Manage the required reporting of all IP certifications programs.
  • Collaborate with Plant QA staff, facilitate external audits from certification bodies.
  • Influence the performance of the plant teams to practices that deliver compliance against requirements, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop expertise and remain current in the program requirements regarding USDA Organic, Kosher, Fair Trade and Rain Forest Alliance certifications. Champion the education and training of personnel on quality practices and standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across the organization at Executive and Operations Management levels to ensure the organization is delivering on all requirements associated with IP certifications.
  • Support the organization's capability to trace and track Organic, Fair Trade and RFA certified production (mass balance).
  • Maintenance of Organic, Kosher and Rain Forest Alliance programs and audit results.
  • Maintain a "good standing" relationship with all certifying bodies to include Organic (QAI), Kosher, Fair Trade, Rain Forest Alliance (RFA).
Requirements

  • BA or BS in food science or related science fields required
  • 7+ years quality management experience required
  • Experience in large scale beverage/food processing required
  • Experience managing teams in multiple locations and different time zones required
  • Experience with ERP systems required. Experience with (SAP), Optiva, Excel, Power Point, Screendragon highly preferred
  • Experience in IP certifications a plus
