Job Summary: This is an exciting role in a growing company. The ideal candidate for the position will be well organized, proactive, and with experience as a network/system engineer. The team is focused on developing long term solutions, transformative IT and company-wide network efforts. This role will report to our VP, Information and Infrastructure. Â
Responsibilities:Â
- Manage the team of network/system engineers
- Provide direct networking support to employees
- Maintain complex WAN and LAN environments including configuration of network hardware, VLANs and network segmentation, and cloud architecture
- Deploy and maintain network platforms including network monitor, firewall, IDS/IPS, and AWS cloud infrastructure
- Deploy and maintain Network Access Control (NAC) across the enterprise
- Harden network systems and configuration and manage firewall appliances across multiple offices
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, and network/system maps
- Work tightly with multiple departments and stakeholders to collect project requirements and provide cross-departmental network support
- Maintain system security by keeping systems up to date and tracking vulnerabilitiesÂ
Basic Qualifications:
- 8+ years of hands-on Network engineering experience and team leading experience
- Experience in managing complex LAN environments distributed across multiple physical locations
- Experience in Microsoft Azure including Intune, Entra ID, Office365, SharePoint, Outlook, and SSO
- Strong Microsoft Active Directory skillsÂ
- Possess a deep understanding of cloud-based architecture including AWS and Azure and respective network services
- Strong knowledge of IAM and least privilege principles Â
- Experience configuring VLANs, network segmentation, and port security
- Experience maintaining firewalls and associated policies on-premises and in the cloudÂ
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience working in a fast-paced, Agile-focused startup environmentÂ
- Aerospace/Defense and/or military networking experienceÂ
- Experience in working with distributed firewall systems such as FortiGate or Palo Alto Networks, and logging systems such as LogicMonitor, or DatadogÂ
- Experience working with Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and proxy services such as Zscaler, Cisco Anyconnect, or NetskopeÂ
- Experience working with VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESXiÂ
- Familiar with defense specific compliance frameworks such as NIST SP 800-171, CIS benchmarks, and ISO standards.Â
- Industry-relevant certifications such as Network+, CCNA, AWS, Microsoft, or CISSPÂ
- Active Security ClearanceÂ

- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. As required by the Equal Pay Transparency Act, Epirus provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location.Â
For the state of California only, the range of starting pay for this role is:
$192,000—$228,000 USD
