Job Summary

The Sr. Manager of Shipboard Applications is responsible for all applications and infrastructure supporting the systems onboard our vessels. They will work with the business on defining the IT roadmap for the company consistent with the overall goals of the organization.
 

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for the support of the systems according to vendor SLAs and business requirements.
  • Manage all technology related incidents onboard and ensure all procedures are followed including documentation.
  • Responsible for roadmap planning, product launch management and reporting, and overall launch readiness.
  • Operate as the Business, New Build and IT liaison, while developing deep knowledge of digital technologies with an eye toward the continual change in consumer technology.
  • Maintain and support the architecture of the shipboard applications including the Property management System, Crew recruitment system, POS systems, marine applications etc.
  • Support the enterprise architecture design needs of the corporation based on the technology stack and application solutions selected.
  • Manage the compliance and governance tasks of the department according to corporate needs and risk tolerance.
  • Assess business process requirements for requests while facilitating an efficient development operation.
  • Manage standards, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Assesses information systems results by auditing application of systems.
  • Enhances information systems results by identifying information systems technology opportunities and developing application strategies.
  • Safeguards assets by planning and implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Accomplishes financial objectives by determining service level required; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as needed.

CompetencyEducation:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field desired.
  • PMP certification a plus
  • Master’s degree a plus

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience managing application support teams
  • Hands-on experience with application support and maintenance procedures
  • Experience working with large-scale enterprise systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Proven problem solving and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain good rapport with internal and external customers and handle situations with confidence, tact, and resourcefulness
  • Flexible, adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience with implementing and/or integrating Property Management Systems
  • Experience with implementing and/or integrating mobile solutions
  • Experience with managing IBS PMS/POS, GetSlash, and Adonis applications
  • Experience with Luxury Cruise, Hospitality and/or Ship Management verticals

Work Environment

  • Hybrid in a typical office environment
  • Up to 40% travel, including International
