Sr. Manager, Paid Search Marketing

Job Description

As Senior Manager, Paid Search Marketing, you will be responsible for one of the largest budgets in the Marketing organization, driving business KPIs such as sales, new customer acquisition, and traffic to our ecommerce websites and retail stores through paid search and shopping. You will report to the Director, Digital Marketing, and will work to define the paid search and shopping channel strategy, leading an internal team and agency team to activate and optimize channel performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Direct, manage and develop internal team and agency to deliver high level thinking as well as day-to-day execution of the paid search and shopping marketing channel strategy. Manage and optimize these programs to achieve consistent performance and improvement over time of critical business and marketing KPIs

2. Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deploy campaigns for business-critical programs, ensuring seamless deployment and effective reporting of results

3. Collaborate closely with the broader marketing and analytics teams when defining and evaluating strategies, budgets and reporting

4. Deliver thought leadership on Paid Search and Shopping's role in the Marketing ecosystem, and lead proactive insights on channel opportunities

5. Define channel tech/data needs and collaborate with stakeholders (Analytics, IT, etc.) to evolve activation, execution and reporting

6. Track innovation and remain educated within the industry, and evaluate and identify new partners and technology that will drive best-in-class channel strategies

7. Own the forecasting and on-going management of the SEM budget, including reconciliation with finance

8. Comfortable communicating and presenting strategy and performance to marketing senior leadership, 1-3 levels above

Education & Experience

Level of Formal Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Area of Study: Marketing, Business Administration

Years of Experience: Minimum 8 years experience in related field

Type of Experience:
• A minimum of 8-10 years of digital marketing experience and at least 5 years SEM experience
• Must have 3+ years hands-on experience creating and managing Paid Search and Shopping campaigns in Google Ads and experience creating and managing complex bid strategies in Search Ads 360 (SA360)
• Must have 5+ years of experience managing teams

Special Certifications:

(CPA, Etc.)

Language Skills:

Technical Competencies
• Google Marketing Platforms, specifically Search Ads 360 (SA360) and Google Analytics 360 (GA360); and Google Ads; Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience helpful but not required

Skills and Ability:
• Success managing complex, large scale Search and Shopping accounts
• Strong, demonstrated innovation skills
• Experience managing a team required; Experience managing an in-house search team preferred
• Management and mentorship of junior team members to meet annual goals
• Deep knowledge of SEM best practices, tools and technologies
• Must understand key performance metrics against diverse marketing goals and how to apply those KPIs to SEM execution, bid management and insight development
• Detail-oriented with strong capabilities around to project management and follow-through
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication (written/verbal) and presentation skills
• Expert-level Excel skills and comfort creating/expressing thoughts through concise PowerPoint presentations
