Sr. Manager, People Operations
Job Description
InStride is seeking a dedicated Senior Manager for our People Operations team, responsible for overseeing and supporting various aspects of the employee lifecycle. As Senior Manager, People Operations, you will play a vital role in refining People Operations strategies, processes, and system development to drive organizational growth. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you'll ensure seamless processes, scalable workflows, effective documentation, and impactful solutions. With a proven track record in HR leadership and a knack for simplifying complexities, you'll strengthen and streamline our People Operations systems, including but not limited to Lattice, Culture Amp, and our compensation strategy. This role involves hands-on leadership, managing a small team, and collaborating closely with HRBP, Recruiting, IT, Engagement, and Communication teams to uphold our company's mission, culture, and vision. This role is designed as a Super Generalist. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated expertise in driving impactful People Operations initiatives end-to-end.Â
Responsibilities:
- Lead with Influence: Take the reins of the People Operations strategy and team development, actively contributing to the creation and execution of People & Talent team goals. You will lead a strong team through your expertise in HR practices, systems, communication, feedback, problem solving, and emotional intelligence.Â
- Integrator: Serve as a crucial link connecting different People & Talent units. Provide expertise in process design and system administration for our people systems, employee relations, talent development, intranet management, engagement efforts, and performance management initiatives.
- Enhancing Core Functions: Oversee and enhance our various facets of the employee experience and essential services, including compensation, compliance, HRIS/people systems evolution, payroll, immigration procedures, company policies, and vendor management.Â
- Crafting an Employee-Centric Approach: Develop clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistent execution across the team. Educate HRBPs and the broader business on effective industry practices.
- Reliable Point of Contact: Act as the primary resource for a diverse range of People Operations inquiries, adeptly navigating complex challenges and providing guidance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relationship and Process Advocate: Proficient in cultivating and sustaining strong relationships and processes, always prioritizing the end-user experience.
- Scaling and developing a team of SMEs. You have a successful track record leading teams or projects, demonstrating effective decision-making and communication skills.
- Has a demonstrated ability to set clear goals, inspire teams, and align efforts with the company's overall direction.
- Minimum 5 Years HR Experience: Possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in Human Resources or People Operations including people leadership.
- Startup HR Exposure: Ideally, prior experience leading HR teams in a startup environment.
- Process Enhancement Skills: Background in refining processes, coupled with a passion for streamlining, automating, and scaling People Operations. Including the implementation and transition of people systems such as an HRIS or PEO.
- Emotional Intelligence and Precision: High emotional intelligence, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage, prioritize, and deliver on multiple significant projects concurrently.
