Job Summary

Leads data analytics needs for Consumer Product Management and serves as the data steward for consumer products and solutions. Provides analytics expertise and identifies insights into product and account portfolio performance, behaviors, and trends. Partners with product managers to identify opportunities or weaknesses in business practices or strategies through data-driven analysis. Leads collaboration with Data, Finance, Marketing, and similar business partners to establish and maintain reporting critical to day-to-day Consumer Product Management activities and reoccurring needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supports product management activities for consumer small business deposits, lending, credit cards and related services.
  • Supports Consumer Product Management through analytics and data-driven insights. Develops and oversees product portfolio, cash flow, and fee reporting, account and client lifecycle analysis, and business case performance tracking. Draws conclusions and presents observations to drive performance in alignment with Synovus strategies.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional business partners to support performance measurement and monitoring of business activities such as from marketing or lead campaigns, efforts to improve product profitability or operational efficiency, and risk management.
  • Serves as the primary data steward for Consumer Product for both internal data governance and relationships with external vendors. Develops and maintains understanding of core systems, data architecture, and ancillary data sources, feeds, or submissions supporting consumer and business banking deposits, debit cards, credit cards, and lending. Partners with subject matter experts to interpret data and enhance business acumen.
  • Champions data-driven decision-making and advances analytic capabilities within Consumer Product Management and Synovus. Networks among internal and external peers to align approaches where applicable, share best-practices across the community, and innovate as the industry evolves.
  • Independently manages multiple assignments simultaneously and completes analysis within appropriate time frames. Accurately identifies facts insights from analysis. Regularly communicates results and updates through both formal and informal approaches. Provides summaries and visuals to accompany or represent data analysis to communicate key points succintly to non-technical business partners or leaders.
  • Builds and strengthens relationships with internal and external partners. Ensures alignment and fosters buy-in across key stakeholders.
  • Manages the annual performance management and merit processes for direct and indirect reports. Coaches and develops team members and builds a work environment where team members are engaged and feel a positive sense of achievement about their role in the company. Works closely with Human Resources regarding employee relations, compensation, training, posting and filling vacant positions and other Human Resources related matters.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Business Analysis, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analysis, Mathematics, Statistics or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum experience:

  • Seven (7) years of comprehensive or relevant experience in data or business analytics

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong technical proficiency using tools to query data such as SQL Assist, SAS, R, Pyton, SPSS
  • Strong proficiency manipulating data using Excel
  • Strong proficiency using tools to visualize or automate data reporting such as Tableau, Power BI
  • Good knowledge of banking and financial services.
  • Ability to work independently when needed to solve problems or drive actions to successful completion.
  • Ability to effectively efficiently manage numerous projects and tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to develop and form strong partnerships across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written in-person communication skills including to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written presentation skills including to non-technical audiences.
