Role Overview
InStride is looking for a dynamic Sr. Manager, Revenue Accounting to join a dedicated finance and accounting team that can scale with our emerging, high growth company. As Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting you will lead our revenue and cash cycle, process improvements, and support cross functional strategic projects including international expansion, system implementations, improving data quality, etc. 
The ideal candidate should possess a blend of Big 4/public accounting experience as well as in-house accounting experience at either a high-growth software/technology company or a more mature company. This position will report to the Controller. 
 
Responsibilities
●    Manage complex accounting processes, accounting transactions, and account reconciliations for revenue during the month-end accounting close cycle.
●    Drive process enhancements to elevate efficiency and accuracy.
●    Lead and manage cross-functional projects, including revenue technology transformation initiatives.
●    Identify and resolve complex accounting issues to elevate efficiency and accuracy.
●    Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate. complex accounting concepts to cross-functional teams and senior management. 
●    Comfortable with ambiguity; the ability to structure ideas into actionable plans.  
●    Manage the development of the revenue note disclosures for the audited financial statements.
●    Develop the tax apportionment calculations to support the partnership tax returns.
●    Support systems maintenance and improvement initiatives across a variety of financial systems including: NetSuite, Avalara, Chargebee, etc.
●    Oversee and manage a team of highly motivated, dynamic individuals through effective leadership practices, while maintaining a high level of performance.
●    Set and achieve team goals, keeping leadership updated on all major projects.
●    Deliver insightful ad hoc analyses that shape decision-making.
●    Assist with managing the work of external consultants as required.
●    Other projects as required.
 
Ideal Profile
●    B.A. or B.S. in Accounting, required
●    Active CPA license 
●    Minimum of 7 years accounting experience (blended corporate and public accounting experience with Big 4/SaaS industry experience preferred). 
●    A proven track record with 3-5 years of people management experience.
●    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues. 
●    Must be a highly motivated team contributor with the ability to collaborate, lead, and mentor others.
●    Multinational experience preferred (United States, Canada, Mexico, and EU preferred).
●    Strong knowledge of US GAAP revenue recognition standards, including ASC 606, ASC 605, and SOX compliance requirements. 
●    Supervisory and cross-functional project experience, required. 
●    Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency. 
●    Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. 
Target base compensation amount for this role outlined below. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts shown below.
