Key Accountabilities
- Provide configuration and analysis support for VC module, fully understanding the capabilities and limitations of the native SAP functional solution, including classes, characteristics, tables, dependencies, profiles, and super BOMs / super Routings.
- Deep functional knowledge of data, processes, screens, integration points with other SAP modules, SAP and industry-standard best practices, and any other tools or products included in the configurator solution
- Ensure strong alignment between the business requirements/needs and the application solutions/services
- Collect and model industry and company-specific configure-to-order, assemble-to-order, and engineer-to-order product requirements
- Ownership of configurator enhancement life cycle to ensure completeness, consistency, quality, and requirement traceability-validating necessity of enhancement, helping to develop a business case, defining requirements, creating functional specifications and design for an effective solution, working with developers to create a technical specification, validating deliverables, working with cross-functional linked teams to ensure solution integration and integrity, performing system configuration, planning and executing IT and business testing, creating documentation and training materials and conducting super-user and/or end-user training
- Develop a strong SAP user community through super-user development and knowledge sharing to keep our solution aligned with the business
- Work with VC Product Modeler Lead in product model testing efforts including unit testing, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.
- Gather, validate, and document VC product model specifications from product experts at business units. Efforts include interviewing experts and facilitating requirements workshops.
- Help design product model architecture to ensure the best balance of maintainability, scalability, and system performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 3 years SAP LOVC VC experience, S/4 experience preferred but not required
- Participated in Full Lifecycle Implementations
- Experience in establishing SAP VC Models through the creation of classes, characteristics, tables, dependencies, profiles, and super BOMs/Routings
- Functional understanding of SAP Variant Configuration software, best practices, and relevant cross-functional knowledge of SD/MM/PP/FI/CO SAP modules and the integration points with VC
- Knowledge of SD in the areas of pricing and item categories
- Knowledge of FI/CO in the areas of Product Costing and VC related Sales Order Costing
