As our Sr. Manager of SSD Hardware Design, you are responsible for the technical and managerial leadership of the NVE SSD Hardware Engineering Team. You will lead a team of Engineers to develop innovative Solid State Drive products & solutions for product applications ranging from consumer to enterprise data center spaces.

This position requires the ability to lead end-to-end solutions, from concept development, through board and mechanical design, release into manufacturing, and integration with targeted firmware. This is a hands-on engineering position that includes development activities, leading senior and junior engineers, collaborating with NPI and firmware teams, and working with Micron's NAND and other internal multi-functional teams. Occasional travel is required.

Other responsibilities encompass dashboard & MBO status reporting, scheduling, allocating and prioritizing resources between products, establishing group goals and tasks, creating and supervising metrics and key process indicators, driving issues to closure, and continuous improvement of the hardware development process. You will collaborate with the Director of HW Engineering.

Skills & experience necessary for success

  • Extensive knowledge of product development life cycle and experience bringing a product to market from concept through design, validation, and into high-volume manufacturing
  • Direct experience leading a team responsible for electrical & logic design and validation, and product delivery into manufacturing.
  • Broad technical knowledge.
  • High-speed serial designs and signal integrity skills.
  • Hands-on experience in design and hardware verification using logic analyzers, bus analyzers, and digital scopes, etc.
  • Experience in PCBA design including analog, high-speed digital, solid understanding of Signal and Power integrity, and experience with DFx and design to cost target.
  • Ability to build and lead an organization of geographically dispersed teams and influence a larger group including technologists in a matrix environment.
  • Experience servicing multiple products simultaneously as a functional team owner.
  • Ability to work with other teams, including architects, software engineering, product management, and manufacturing.
  • The ability to work and maintain good relationships with worldwide suppliers and customers.
  • The vision is to establish new methods and design practices to compete in highly competitive markets.
  • Good communication, documentation, leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • The ability to provide a technical explanation and presentation.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communications skills

Education & Experience Required

  • BSEE. MSEE preferred
  • 15+ years of professional engineering experience; including 10+ years of management experience.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $156,000.00 - $272,000.00
