Senior Manager Team Sales
adidas - Portland, OR
PURPOSE
Manage the development of the Team Dealer Sales Force which will include Fiscal Business Targets, sell in plans by season by category, inventory management, account and channel specific strategies, US Marketing and Trade Specific communication. This person will interface with Team Sales Leadership related to product needs specific to equipment and work with Director of Team Sales on account coverage development.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Partner with Sales Director to develop strategies and execution plans for team and accounts managed
- Using strong business acumen and retail math abilities drive the top and bottom line number for account base
- Directly lead team of national Team Sales Reps and perform supervisory responsibilities including hiring, training, performance assessments, coaching and mentoring
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal cross-functional partners
- Establish and cultivate relationships with key retailer personnel in order in influence and execute strategic direction with accounts.
- Drive account growth and profitability by assessing and building on areas of momentum; capitalize on product opportunities and course correct with innovative sales tactics to improve performance with accounts
- Responsible for territory financial management: sales volume forecasting, profit, cancellations/returns, and promotional/marketing budgets.
- Develop strategic sales and promotion plans leveraging account insights and goals to achieve sales targets and align with brand and category objectives.
- Deliver on time reporting and forecasting for all required reports and documents to appropriate parties
- Manage, track and resolve all customer compliance issues regarding freight claims, charge-backs, shipping violations, and RTV
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to apply financial data to make decisions and influence outcomes. This includes margins, retail math, forecast/projections.
- Ability to portray a confident and winning attitude in challenging business interactions.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence outcomes with both internal and external contacts.
- Proven background that reflects being results-oriented.
- Agile and confident communication skills with internal and external business partners.
- Experience working across a wide range of business partners on projects.
- Ability to make "on the spot" decisions.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of business via phone, written communication and in person.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Ability to tell a wholistic story verses taking a transactional approach.
- Passion for sport.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
QUALIFICATIONS• BS/BA with sales experience and strong organizational skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills• Key account sales experience, preferably within the sporting goods industry• Demonstrated peer or team leadership• Combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for a degree
