Enterprise teams at Riot are responsible for creating the culture, systems, and environment that enable Riot to be the best place for world-class talent to imagine and deliver the impossible for players.  Enterprise collectively is made up of key corporate teams like Finance, People & D&I, Legal, Corporate Affairs, IT and Infosec, D&I and Corp. The Sr. Manager, Technical Product Management - Enterprise Data, reporting to the Sr. Director, Business Operations, leads the data and reporting team for Riot’s Enterprise pillar. This team works to evolve the data and reporting practices of the pillar, working alongside the more specific function-level teams to steward the overall data architecture and governance of the pillar. The Sr. Manager, Technical Product Management - Enterprise Data is expected to manage a team of data engineers and analysts and guide the team in improving data infrastructure and processes, develop dashboards that merge different operational data from across Enterprise, work with other insights teams on Enterprise to ensure the pillar’s reporting needs are well-covered, and provide ad-hoc insights support to Enterprise teams.

While this role is accountable for the operationalization of Enterprise’s data strategy and for the state of Enterprise’s operational reporting capabilities, it is not responsible for all of Enterprise’s data or insights efforts. Accordingly, this role requires collaboration and shared stewardship across the pillar and with Riot’s broader data organization. 

The ideal candidate is a data product leader passionate about creating data products, systems, and processes that enable others to create better products or make more informed decisions.

Responsibilities:

Stewards the operational reporting suite of Enterprise; Informs Enterprise teams

  • Aligns with pillar leadership on what operational metrics should be surfaced within Enterprise and for Enterprise’s customers
  • Develops the long-term roadmap of reporting capabilities
  • Guides team in developing and updating dashboards and other reporting mechanisms
  • Provides direct insights support to Enterprise teams that lack their own insights capabilities, working with team members to deliver analytics and research projects (e.g., customer satisfaction surveys, deep-dive reporting on behavioral metrics, qualitative research into customer behaviors and preferences)

Operationalizes Enterprise data strategy; ensures data excellence

  • Partners with the Data organization’s lead of Enterprise data to manifest Enterprise’s data strategy 
  • Works with Enterprise system and function teams to develop an approach for the Enterprise data lake and source of truth reporting
  • Develops processes and standards to ensure Enterprise data is well-governed, accurate, and secure; works with business partners to ensure processes result in appropriate data outcomes
  • Works with the broader Data organization to ensure Enterprise data strategy is aligned with Riot’s broader data strategy; ensures Enterprise uses appropriate technologies for data storage and consolidation; ensures Data org standards of testing and reliability are followed
  • Works with Enterprise leadership to develop data access and security policies to ensure sensitive financial and HR data can be appropriately used within reporting

Supports Enterprise Insights teams

  • Works with existing Enterprise insights teams (e.g., Business Health, People Insights) to ensure their metrics and reporting efforts align to the broader operational reporting needs of Enterprise
  • Works to support and unblock Enterprise insights teams by providing data infrastructure improvements, including ways of accessing and joining relevant operational data 

Manages & leads an interdisciplinary team

  • Ensures Rioters within their team deliver high-value outcomes, meet expected quality bars, and effectively collaborate with their partners
  • Leads, mentors, and supports career development for Rioters within their team
Required Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years experience in product management, data leadership, or business intelligence; or 6+ years experience with graduate degree
  • 2+ years experience directly managing others
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with team members from a range of insights crafts, including analytics, quantitative research, and qualitative research
  • Experience managing stakeholders from a variety of functions and balancing competing demands
  • Experience working in creative and/or tech focused environments
