Sr. Manufacturing Engineer
Lunar is searching for an experienced Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to develop our manufacturing processes and equipment. This person will be responsible for taking ownership of a specific Lunar product and working cross-functionally to bring this product to production. This person will work with internal product design and operations teams as well as external equipment vendors, integrators, and contract manufacturers.
On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…
- Work alongside Operations and Engineering teams to develop new products from the requirements stage all the way through full production ramp
- Lead NPI prototype builds to gain deep product knowledge and push Design for Manufacturing feedback through the Engineering teams
- Design the processes for assembling our products and work with equipment vendors, integrators, and contract manufacturers
- Travel to equipment vendors to audit their capabilities and buyoff on equipment before shipment (FAT)
- Travel to contract manufacturers to setup processes, perform SATs with equipment vendors, and solve issues that come up during and after production ramp
- Develop process documentation (process flows, PFMEAs, cycle time charts, work instruction etc.) to share both internally and externally
Desired Skills:
- 4+ years in a manufacturing and prototyping environment developing/improving processes, running prototype builds, specifying equipment, and overseeing equipment rollout and buyoff
- Ability to manage product development work with a focus on prototyping efforts
- Proven track record of developing and launching production processes with a strong OEE
- BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial); MS in Engineering preferred
- Familiarity with statistical process control and analysis of quality issues
- Experience with industrial automation (robot/PLC programming is a plus)
- Strong project management experience and an eye for detail and organization

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $120,000 - $135,000 USD.
The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
