Job Overview:

The Safe-Guard Marketing team guides and supports Safe-Guard clients and retail platform partners in the omnichannel (online and in-showroom) education and retail sale of branded vehicle protection products. The team establishes best practices, develops branded creative support for our clients, and seeks to identify new opportunities to help grow dealer awareness and participation and build consumer awareness and consideration for branded vehicle protection products.

The Sr. Marketing Specialist will be a primary marketing liaison for internal and external clients for certain accounts. They oversee various projects to develop B-B and B-C content and enable vehicle protection products to be sold in a digital or traditional channel.

The Sr. Marketing Specialist helps to lead the execution of digital or traditional marketing support for various brands on the Safe-Guard Products client roster. The Sr. Marketing Specialist is responsible for the planning, project management, development, and delivery of B-C and B-B marketing initiatives. This role will have the ability to interface effectively at various levels inside and outside of the organization.

The person for this role must love client service and must be an opportunity finder and a problem solver. They must be a self-starter, have an entrepreneurial mindset, and have a solid understanding of B-C and B-B marketing and communications. They will have experience in a client-facing role at either an ad agency or other service organization. Ideally, they will have experience in the automotive industry at or working with an OEM or national retail brand or automotive technology organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the creation and implementation of marketing solutions for new client launches and new / refreshed content needs for brands on the Safe-Guard Products client roster
  • Leads marketing projects from planning, through content and creative development, reviews and approvals, development, and delivery. This includes partnering within Marketing, but also includes working with Account Management, Retail Sales/Field, Legal, IT Development, and external vendors as necessary
  • Responsible for full project management of marketing projects, including leading internal/external clients, defining the scope, setting timelines and meeting deadlines, assigning tasks, communicating status updates, tracking applicable costs, and documenting / merchandising results
  • Presents work directly to internal and external clients
  • Ensures overall programs and executions accurately reflect the applicable brand and corporate identity guidelines, and accurately represent client-specific program and product offerings
  • Provides internal and external clients with transparency on client priorities, projects, and timelines. Prepares weekly project status reports and holds project status meetings as necessary.
  • Merchandises project and department results to internal and external clients
  • Builds relationships with Account Management and Sales in order to identify sales and marketing opportunities
  • Assists with guiding and mentoring junior team members of the marketing team
  • Manages 3rd party vendors to business needs
  • Supports Safe-Guard's new business activities as needed (written proposal / RFP development, presentation, preparation, and delivery)
  • Tracks marketing expenses against budget, and reports variances
  • Other duties, as dictated by departmental priorities

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business or equivalent
  • 4+ years' experience of marketing or advertising experience, either client or agency side
  • Demonstrated experience in a marketing/advertising client service role (including account/client management, project management)
  • Demonstrated experience in B-B and B-C marketing
  • Demonstrated knowledge of print and digital development and production to interface effectively with clients and vendors
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, and meet deadlines while multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills
  • Detail-oriented and positive working attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a desire to work within a team
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of automotive sales and marketing including current trends and customer expectations is a plus
  • Experience with project management / collaborative work management software a plus (Wrike, Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.)
  • Knowledge of creative applications (Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator), PR applications (PR Newswire, etc.), and web content applications (WordPress, etc.) a plus
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background check
