POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Mergers & Acquisitions Analyst supports the Business Development group with responsibilities in the areas of providing complex analytical support for acquisitions and internal development projects. valuation modeling and evaluation of new market and other business opportunities.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides financial valuation for acquisitions and organic investment opportunities
- Creates financial models and drafts presentations, memoranda for a wider audience within the organization including senior leadership
- Works with various departments and senior leadership to support transaction negotiations and synthesize due diligence findings
- Assists with the evaluation of new market opportunities including production of market maps, researching market demographics, identifying acquisition targets, evaluating disposal alternatives and the competitive landscape
- Assists with the development and maintenance of pro-forma models, policies and procedures, and due diligence work programs.
- Develops and maintains business acquisition pipeline and other department databases.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned or apparent.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study (required).
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in financial analysis or accounting (required).
- Minimum of 3 years work experience in public accounting (Big 4 or Tier II National), investment banking, private equity, corporate M&A, business development, transaction diligence or valuation services.
- Chartered Financial Analysis (CFA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or similar professional certifications (Preferred)
- Master's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Business Administration (Preferred)
- Experience conducting financial projects and statistical studies of a complex nature.
- Highly proficient Microsoft Excel skills, including development and use of financial models, pivot tables, graphs, macros, and complex formulas.
- Proven knowledge of financial analysis, forecasting, strategic planning, and interpretation of financial data.
- Ability to apply the concepts, principles, and procedures of accounting and finance to business development.
