Abiomed has recently introduced a manufacturing execution system (MES). The MES Engineer is part of the Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain organization. This individual will drive optimization and effectiveness of MES processes and their fluent integration into other business processes. The MES Engineer will be responsible for the identification of manufacturing needs related to MES. The position will work collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering, and IT.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinate incoming change requests
• Evaluate return on investment and recommend appropriate course of action based on their analysis
• Work closely with stakeholders on the shop floor and other departments to ensure all user's needs are met
• Support g lobal harmonization and introduction of new product lines into MES
• Closely manage changes including user training and business awareness
• Responsible to ensure the MES Manufacturing Workstream delivers best business practices
• Work with manufacturing teams to identify and establish value added changes that enable more efficient operations
• Engage workforce to uncover inefficiencies and areas to help poke yoke the process
• Collaborate with finance, quality, and other stakeholders to ensure system is meeting all compliance requirements in a streamlined fashion.
• Leading and managing blueprint workshops, working with business function owners to understand business requirements.
• Overseeing and leading the change process
• Conduct formal reviews at the completion of each phase, consolidate issues and communicate progress
• Develop training plans for all new features/updates and lead training initiatives
• Support the shop floor in MES related issues, investigate and resolve problems, work with appropriate technical resources if necessary.

Key Skills/Experiences:

• Demonstration of in-depth technical capabilities in system supported manufacturing in a regulated environment.
• 5+ years of experience in design, development, implementation, testing of manufacturing execution systems, preferably Siemens Camstar/OpCenter.
• Experience in FDA regulated industry and familiarity with CFR 21 Part 11, GMP, SAS, and Sarbanes Oxley a plus

• Technical aptitude: ability to learn new systems and information quickly
• Ability to express complex technical concepts in terms understandable to the business
• Excellent Presentation, Communication & Inter-Personal skills
• Capable to build relationships with key business stakeholders to understand their needs
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with competing priorities
• Understanding of Lean Methodologies and Operational Excellence
• Experience and proven success working in a multi-cultural environment
