Sr. Mobile Engineer, Cross Platform (Remote)

THE PURPOSE:

Slickdeals is looking for a motivated and experienced Cross-Platform developer to help us build a best-in-class mobile experience within the Flutter cross platform framework. You’ll be working as part of a growth focused mobile team that powers the Slickdeals community, and you will be responsible for new features and improvements for our flagship mobile app. As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you are expected to embody the following:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Embrace Lean development methodologies to pragmatically get results quickly. Leverage experiments and observable data to make informed decisions to effectively reduce the cost of iteration
• Cultivate a growth mindset where you and the team fail fast and learn from mistakes
• Participate in agile development leveraging Kanban and Scrum on a cross-functional development team delivering value to the customer in 2-week sprints
• Take ownership and accountability of new systems and processes while also ensuring other team members are consulted and informed
• Develop software that scales across platforms and is responsive across many different mobile device specs and form factors
• Validate code correctness using Unit Tests, Integration Tests, and Test-Driven Development practices
• Prioritize Code Peer Reviews with a focus on coding standards to enable other developers to act on feedback quickly

THE CANDIDATE:

• A technologist who breaks through blockers and gets the job done regardless of tools or platform
• 4+ years of experience building and releasing consumer apps for phones and tablets
• 2+ years of experience working with Flutter

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with creating Flutter packages
• In-depth knowledge of Bloc
• In-depth knowledge of event driven and reactive architecture
• Native experience with Android Development in Java and Kotlin
• Native experience with Android-Flutter Plugin development
• Experience working with multiple approaches to Unidirectional Flow State Management
• Experience creating and encapsulating shared code in cross-platform packages ready to be consumed by multiple applications
• Experience shipping multiple apps in Flutter
• Test Driven Development 
• Understands and knows how to implement Mocks and Fakes
