DIRECT HIRE Senior Network Engineer role in Charlotte, NC

Modis is seeking to fill a DIRECT HIRE Senior Network Engineer role responsible for leading the architectural design of client networks and providing Tier 3 escalation support of issues and/or changes for existing networks. This includes but is not limited to troubleshooting network services, VPN issues from Cloud based technology . The successful candidate will have skilled experience in Cloud technology, routing, switching, firewall, and virtualization in a Data Center environment.
The Senior Network Engineer will be a key team member in the transformation of the production network at Data Centers, providing resiliency and scalability to support the growth of the business. This position must have knowledge of carrier networks and circuit types. The Engineer will assist in the creation of end-to-end artifacts and policies defining standards for technology deployment and configuration.
Minimum requirements and experience for this DIRECT HIRE Senior Network Engineer job are:
Education / Experience: College degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and 8+ years professional level experience; or 10+ years of professional level Engineering/Technical experience.
Key Competencies: Work collaboratively to drive solutions promoting sound architecture principles, simplicity and component reuse in an objective manner to solve complex problems. In-depth, practical knowledge of L2/L3 structure, element selection, Carrier network and customer premise protocols, Operating Systems, equipment lifecycle management, provisioning and support methods for customer services, risk mitigation and trouble resolution methods. In-depth practical knowledge of best practices and industry standards regarding Carrier Ethernet technologies.
Other: Network Design, MPLS, TCP/IP, FR/ATM, QoS, CoS, Cisco and MEF Certifications, VoIP, MCGP/SIP, BGP/ISIS/OSPF/(E)IGRP Routing Protocols, Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWALL and/or Brocade equipment experience.
