Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in performing network support
- 5 years of experience analyzing network failures or outages
- 5 years of experience in network design and implementation
- Technical certifications (CCNA, CCNP)
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
- Extensive knowledge of router, switch and firewall platforms
- Experience with Data Center technologies like Cisco Nexus Routing and Switching, Spine-Leaf Architecture
- Experience managing firewalls like Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and packet analysis tools
- Experience with routing protocols like BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
- Experience in supporting site-to-site VPN for B2B/Partner connectivity, Cloud networking services for AWS, Azure, GCP
Job Summary
As our Senior Network Engineer you'll monitor, operate, install and maintain the network infrastructure and security; which can include the local area network (LAN), the wide area network (WAN), intranets, extranets or other data communication networks.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, operate, install and maintain high availability network infrastructure
- Be responsible for network monitoring
- Perform advanced troubleshooting to resolve complex network issues and perform network tuning
- Install and configure general network equipment and systems
- Develop the network architecture to meet business needs, develop test plans and evaluate the technology
- Develop plans for the future of services, which the Network team is responsible for delivering
- Regularly connect with vendors of systems owned to ensure we're utilizing best practices and using their products as effectively as possible
- Suggest and implement operational efficiencies to help their team work more effectively
- Stay current on industry trends and suggest opportunities to implement new technologies or processes
- Develop and implement network security policies
- Develop documentation for incident response, administering systems and system upgrades
- Coordinate equipment needs with internal clients
- Be a go-to person for any network concerns, such as technology incidents and network outages
- Coordinate contracts for external vendors for scheduling, pricing and contract length for various network needs
- Mentor junior-level team members
