Sr. Newscast Director

Job Description

KSNV is looking for a Sr. Director for our Newscast who will be responsible for supervising the production personnel as well as maintaining the studio calendar in conjunction with the booking manager. In addition, coordinating production personnel work schedules and overseeing studio maintenance like lighting, camera and control room production equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Make personnel decisions such as hiring, performance management, coaching, training, position development and employee disciplinary reports.
• Coordinate production personnel work schedules
• Oversee studio maintenance and changes as necessary such as lighting, shot selection and set design.
• Coordinate special events and client programming with news and promotions.
• Other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in related field
• 3 or more years directing experience with studio operations, television production, and field production experience
• Ability to work well with all levels of personnel in a news and sales departments to plan and troubleshoot client and news programming.
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and have excellent oral and written communication abilities
• Must have experience as a Ross Overdrive director, knowledge of Ross expressions as well as manual Switcher operation.
• Ability to prioritize projects and tasks
• Strong leadership skills to maintain department morale and team building
• Ability to foresee issues and solve them before they become an issue
• "On-call" person for all positions in the production department
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and climb ladders and other equipment
• Shift may vary including weekends, holidays, and special events
