About The Position

  • The Senior Operations Specialist for End User Compute leads research, design, development, build, and testing of Ameren's end user computing operating systems, platforms, client agents and related device-based ecosystems that improve co-worker experience significantly and enhance their productivity.
  • Designs, writes, implements and performs backup and restore procedures, and monitors processes
  • Administers and maintains system stability

Key responsibilities include:

  • Research new and innovative solutions to the technical challenges that arise; managing the resulting initiatives and maintaining professional expertise to lead in planning, conducting proof-of-concepts, and contributing to the technology standards used by the company.
  • Collaborate and review with Infrastructure Architecture, the design, build, test, and deployment of end user computing, collaboration and productivity, audio visual and conferencing, and related cloud-based technologies including devices, infrastructure, platforms, and software.
  • Collaborate with senior-level team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional team members to establish service level objectives for end user computing, collaboration and productivity, audio visual and conferencing, and related cloud-based technologies.
  • Prepare and maintain the requisite technical documentation to transition devices, infrastructure, platforms, and software to Operations.
  • Coordinates software releases, system upgrades and patches with internal teams, and resolves complex problems
  • Plans, manages and forecasts system resources
  • Creates multiple internal tools and supports development of automation scripts
  • Supports development of tools and processes to support operations and administration of Ameren's infrastructure
  • Helps plan for future of the system backup plan
  • Leads components of the design of disaster/system recovery and testing
  • Prepares stakeholders for system updates or implementations, facilitates transparency and adaptation; communicates how infrastructure operations drives value for the business
  • Provides implementation path for a group of systems to provide a solution; sets service level expectations
  • Vets new technologies and compatibility with Ameren's capabilities
  • Applies existing and emerging technologies to business problems to create practical solutions and efficiency opportunities
  • Coaches co-workers and provides feedback to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Provide off hours support, as needed, and the ability to adhere to rigorous Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree required, preferably in computer science or related field.
  • Four plus years of experience in Windows Desktop Operating Systems, Windows Server Operating Systems, System Center (Imaging, Task Sequences, Application Deployment, and Patching), Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy, Mobile Device Management like AirWatch/Microsoft Intune, , VMWare Virtualization, , Apple iPhone & MacOS, Android, and other end user compute products, required.
  • Demonstrable experience in scripting to automate administrative tasks, required (i.e. PowerShell)
  • Desktop and application troubleshooting, performance monitoring, configuration management, and various systems management utilities, required.
  • Will consider candidates without a degree if they show/demonstrate having 2+ additional years of equivalent, relevant experience in tools, systems, and initiatives leveraged by Ameren
  • Certification in Microsoft MCSA, Microsoft MCSE, and/or Cisco CCNA preferred

  • Ability to multi-task and possess excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to be self-directed when required and work as part of a distributed team
  • Travel, overtime, and/or off-hours work may be required based upon project management assignments
  • Must be flexible to work a standard work week in an office environment
