Job Description

The DIRECTV Talent Organization is seeking a Sr. Partner, Talent Development & Performance Management. This strategic leader will drive our enterprise-wide Talent & Performance Development mission and support initiatives which enable a feedback culture that inspires employees to the highest levels of performance to achieve DIRECTV's objectives.
In addition, this skilled professional will use data to design, develop, implement, and measure impacts of talent processes and programs. This includes these key responsibilities in the following core areas:
Performance Development & Management
  • Help establish and maintain a continuous feedback culture through development of a model inclusive of goal setting, performance check-ins, annual reviews, feedback processes and performance improvement guidelines.

Success Management
  • Lead identification, management and maintenance of critical roles and succession candidates for senior positions at DIRECTV.
  • Assess and develop incumbent talent in critical roles, as well as their successors.

Employee Development
  • Develop a strong partnership with DIRECTV Academy to recommend build/buy decisions and identify and manage development resources and programs to support not only the overarching needs of the organization, but specific needs such as identifying critical talent, as well as organization specific interventions to close identified gaps.
  • Effectively project manage these current offerings:
    • Internal mentoring
    • External programs such as BetterUp Coaching and Executive Presence Workshops

Organization Effectiveness Consultation
  • Establish standard framework for assessments within DIRECTV
  • Work across BU organizations in partnership with HRBPs and DIRECTV Academy to assess, diagnose, and recommend interventions to close gaps and improve effectiveness.

Aside from these responsibilities, this leadership position has high visibility with exposure to senior leadership across the enterprise. What are we seeking in return for this amazing opportunity?
  • 10+ years as an HR professional with demonstrated success in employee development and performance management
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in HRM or related field
  • Relevant certification (e.g., SHRM, HRCI, ATD, ODCP) or willingness to obtain is a plus
  • Demonstrated strength in setting strategy, ensuring an external viewpoint, utilization of best practices, as well as ability to pivot to tactical execution from strategic design
  • Experience implementing employee's development and learning programs
  • Experience establishing and managing procedures for performance improvement
  • Familiarity with Workday
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent data analytics and advanced-level Excel skills
  • Demonstrated collaboration and stakeholder management expertise
  • Strong contract negotiation experience
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a demanding environment
  • Expert level organization skills
  • Ability to maintain an unparalleled focus on employee and customer experience while executing on all other job responsibilities
