Aviation connects the world and we connect aviation. Our Enablement Products team is looking for a Technical Project Manager (TPM) to lead the development of our GlobalConnect solution. The industry is continuously deploying intelligent aircraft that generate significantly more performance data. As this volume of data increases, it's necessary to seamlessly unite the flow of data between the aircraft, the airline and ground applications. GlobalConnect simplifies this transition. This role is part of the Connected Aviation Solutions business that is leading the way for the future of connectivity. The GlobalConnect TPM will lead the execution of development, deployment, and maintenance for our ground-based solutions for InteliSight, A320 and A330 FOMAX, and A350 connectivity that are deployed around the world. Our cloud-based solutions ensure that customers are able to integrate our solution into their networks to connect with their aircraft containing our connectivity solutions.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. (Candidates can choose to work in a Hybrid role if currently living in the Cedar Rapids, IA or Burnsville, MN area)

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Engineering lead within the Product Integrated Product Team (IPT), working under the leadership of Value Stream Leadership (VSL) and alongside the rest of the IPT (Business Development Contracts, Finance, Service & Support, and Operations)
  • Responsible to build the roadmap in alignment with business priorities and drive alignment across teams include leadership.
  • Reviews project and budget status and aligns and manages schedules to meet customer and business needs.
  • Support VSL in communications of the program to internal, external and leadership teams. These include (and not limited to) status of the program on a regular basis, risks and the mitigations, changes to schedule.
  • Champion program management and Agile methodology skills
  • Work closely with product managers to make sure that features maximize value to customers.
  • Work closely with the engineering teams to ensure that the right technical tradeoffs are being made, software practices and other processes are being followed, right priorities are being addressed, and progress is being made.
  • Work with external teams to negotiate the incoming and outgoing dependencies. You act as the first point of contact to reduce randomizations to the engineering team.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience in Technical Program and/or Product Management or leading large scale and complex software development projects in an agile environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience and proficiency with web technologies and tools.
  • Experience with distributed computing and enterprise-wide system.
  • Experience with .net, C#, python, SQL, and Windows Server development and deployment.
  • Experience with Django, Nginx, PostgreSQL, Docker and Linux development and deployment.
