Job Summary:Â As a Sr. Principal Product Manager at Alteryx, you will lead the strategic direction and execution for our Dataset Service and Trifacta products. You will be responsible for defining the product vision, roadmap, and feature prioritization to drive the success of these critical components within the Alteryx ecosystem. This role requires a deep understanding of data management, data engineering, and analytics, as well as a strong customer focus and the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Vision: Develop and drive the long-term vision and strategy for the Dataset Service and Trifacta products, ensuring alignment with Alteryx’s overall business goals and customer needs.
- Roadmap Development:Â Create and maintain a detailed product roadmap that balances short-term goals with long-term strategic initiatives. Experience leading products/features through all stages of the product life cycle: development, maintenance, and sunset.
- Customer Focus:Â Act as the voice of the customer, conducting regular user research, market analysis, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions and ensure we are solving the most critical problems for our users.
- Cross-Functional Leadership:Â Work closely with engineering, design, marketing, sales, and customer success teams to ensure seamless product development and go-to-market execution. Champion product initiatives and ensure all teams are aligned on goals and deliverables.
- Execution & Delivery:Â Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely and successful delivery of high-quality products and features. Monitor product performance post-launch and iterate based on user feedback and analytics.
- Stakeholder Management:Â Communicate product plans, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and other stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment across the organization.
- Market & Trend Analysis:Â Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in data management, analytics, and data engineering. Use this knowledge to inform product strategy and ensure Alteryx remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Mentorship & Leadership:Â Provide guidance and mentorship to other product managers and team members. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the product management team.
Qualifications:
- Experience:Â 10+ years of product management experience, with at least 5 years focused on data management, data engineering, or analytics products. Experience with cloud-based SaaS products is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Business) is required. An advanced degree (MBA, MS) is preferred.
- Technical Skills:Â Strong understanding of data management, ETL processes, data wrangling, and analytics. Familiarity with Trifacta or similar data preparation tools is highly desirable.
- Leadership:Â Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving complex product initiatives from concept to delivery.
- Communication:Â Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Customer-Centric:Â Deep empathy for users and a passion for solving their most pressing data challenges.
- Analytical:Â Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
