Job Summary:

Lead and oversee complex engineering projects involving hardware and software integration, ensuring technical performance, schedule, and budgets are met. Direct engineering resources, provide technical guidance, and supervise the project team. Act as a technical consultant, coordinating with various disciplines and stakeholders. Manage project documentation, system requirements, and designs. Interface with customers and collaborate with internal teams. Mentor and coach engineering team members.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage the engineering team, ensuring proper resources and roles.
• Oversee all aspects of the engineering side, from design to delivery and deployment.
• Deliver engineering solutions within budget and schedule.
• Assist program manager in controlling costs and managing risks and technical issues.
• Serve as the primary technical contact across the project team and with customers.
• Document and maintain the Engineering Management Plan.
• Manage system requirements, designs, and configurations.
• Interface with customers, provide technical support, and manage presentations.
• Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to implement solutions.
• Lead cross-team collaboration and process improvement initiatives.
• Establish engineering statements of work and work breakdown structures.
• Monitor software and hardware integration and formal testing activities.
• Ensure stability of the technical baseline and report engineering metrics.
• Mentor and coach engineering team members.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Four-year college degree in Engineering or Business Operations.
• Ten (10)+ years of related experience or eight years and a Master's degree.
• Minimum 5 years leading engineering teams.
• Experience in system and subsystem designs, analysis, and testing.
• Familiarity with project management principles.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Pro-active, decisive, and action-oriented leader.
• Preferred: Project management qualifications, such as PMI PMP.
