Your Impact
- Play a prominent role in the delivery of operations and service planning projects for major railroads and transit agencies nationwide.
- Provide guidance and oversight for major transit and rail projects and programs.
- Champion the development of parameters for operations and service planning competencies through research into market needs, conducting client outreach and benchmarking partner and competitor firms.
- Collaborate with the Transit & Rail Team to identify growth opportunities to contribute to achieving growth initiative goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the development of innovative strategies and mobility solutions for transit and rail master planning, network and facilities planning, and transit-oriented development projects and programs.
- Focus on competencies for projects' delivery using methods & systems for quality, project management, technical review and verification.
- Lead and/or support transit and rail pursuits and proposals.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Transportation, Planning, Public Policy or equivalent experience
- 12 years of rail transportation operations and/or service development experience, including establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders across a broad range of disciplines.
- Proven ability to manage railroad and transit operations and service planning initiatives, including analytics, of varying sizes and complexities.
- Ability to clearly articulate and prioritize key service attributes of multi-modal transportation networks, including inter-city rail, commuter rail, transit (rail and bus) with an understanding of cornerstone regional mobility solutions.
- Outstanding communications verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of evaluating and applying new technologies.
- Organized self-starter with a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Strong ability to quickly adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility to a variety of schedules and hours to meet business needs.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering.
- Engineer license (multi-state preferred).
- Strong experience in managing the review and approval of documents and discipline-specific deliverables, certifications, processes, and plans in a multi-project environment is highly desirable.
