About the role:

This is a unique opportunity to have an impact on product development and management for Gartner's Information Technology (IT) End-User products team, which focuses on key IT decision-makers. The Senior (Sr.) Director, Product Management will focus on the product strategy for Information Technology (IT) leaders and their teams during a time of rapid transformation. This role will help accelerate growth of a >$1Bn business portfolio at Gartner, starting with innovating how to serve Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) leaders within large, global CIO organizations

As a critical member of the team, the Sr. Director, Product Management will be responsible for product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle based on a deep understanding of IT clients' workflows, needs and challenges, and will use those insights as the key driving principle for product strategy and enhancements.

This high-impact, high-visibility role is part of Gartner's Global Product Management team and will significantly contribute to achieving sustained double-digit contract value growth and strong client retention.

What you will do:

  • Act as product owner during the product development and management process for Gartner product(s) that serve IT leaders, with an initial focus on Infrastructure and Operations leaders (I&O) and their teams. Over time, expand focus to include additional IT leader roles such as Enterprise Architecture (EA)
  • Be an expert in understanding client needs; capture client and market insights to inform product development and management efforts
  • Define and manage the product roadmap for I&O leaders that helps clients achieve their mission critical business priorities
  • Manage the I&O product development process from concept to launch, measure progress post-launch, and manage ongoing product enhancement to maximize client value
  • Analyze product performance, adoption, growth, customer satisfaction/retention and lead problem-solving efforts to identify and remove obstacles
  • Develop and present regular updates to executives and partner with cross-functional across Research, Product Management, Sales, Services and Technology to surface and test product concepts, features and enhancements
  • Drive the commercial success of the product along with client satisfaction

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 10+ years' of progressive career experience in product management / product strategy, and understanding of the challenges and priorities of IT leaders
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills, including ability to turn analysis into actionable recommendations with measurable business impact
  • Adept in translating client and business needs into key product requirements
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams across all levels of the organization and work collaboratively in a matrixed environment
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • A bias for action, including balancing tradeoffs, a willingness to dive in and do what it takes to get things done
  • Ability to work in a culture that thrives on feedback and seeks opportunities to stretch outside comfort zone
