Sr. Product Engineer

Industrial Designer

Our team is working on state-of-the-art technologies for healthcare diagnostics and has an opening for a talented and experienced industrial designer. An ideal candidate will be able to take a very rough prototype of a future product (ranging from handheld medical devices to large laboratory equipment), and move through the phases of envisioning and producing concept art to engineering diagrams for manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be well-rounded and equally talented on the artistic/visionary front as well as designing for manufacturing (incorporating cost, manufacturability, volume, material sourcing, etc.). This candidate will work independently with substantial freedom as part of a small, highly-dedicated unit. Prior experience and a portfolio of prior work is required for evaluating applicants.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Take preliminary rough prototypes and create artistic renderings of potential product designs
• Collaborate with engineering team to finalize and select final product design
• CAD of product designs for manufacturing
• Take concepts of next-generation diagnostic tools and convert them to final products for use in clinical trials and eventual commercialization

Minimum Qualifications

• MS (or BS with additional experience) working in a similar area as an industrial designer
• Portfolio of work for evaluation
• Artistic capabilities for product conception artwork
• Strong CAD skills (ideally Fusion360, AutoCAD, or similar)
