Reporting to the VP of Product Management and Marketing, the Sr. Product Line Manager, Power Generation, will manage the organization's top growth initiative - Power Generation for the Waukesha Business Unit. The new leader will partner with senior leadership to shape strategy, influence direction, drive performance, and help the business meet or exceed aggressive growth expectations. The role will lead across the product platform, partnering with Sales & Sales Operations, Engineering, and Manufacturing & Supply Chain to create and execute project plans, track and report progress, better enabling faster decision making and results predictability.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Growth Strategy. Own the Waukesha business power generation growth strategy. Identify and prioritize attractive market segments for Waukesha PG offerings (oil field power generation, commercial & industrial, etc.). Develop the go-to-market approach with support from sales, channel, and marketing teams. Outline, track, and report business key performance indicators and targets.
- Multi-Generational Product Plan (MGPP). Lead development of the MGPP. Outline product requirements as they pertain to power generation new product introductions. Utilize voice of the customer to outline engine and genset performance requirements. Work closely with engineering to execute NPIs associated with product scope that includes engine, alternator, and balance of plant.
- Value Proposition. Work with sales and marketing to build a differentiated value proposition for Waukesha PG offerings. Coordinate with marketing and communications to develop marketing campaigns targeting PG segments (PG messaging, collateral, webinars, event strategy).
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess: (1) experience in a product management role for highly technical equipment, ideally rotating or reciprocating equipment for the energy or oil and gas industries; (2) market expertise in the power generation industry; (3) the leadership skills and gravitas to operate successfully in a fast paced, investor-backed environment.
- At least 10 years of professional experience; ideal candidates will have experience with reciprocating / rotating equipment for the energy and/or oil and gas industry.
- Experience expanding into new markets/customer classes.
- Experience in developing product business case justifying program investment.
- Experience in developing product differentiated value proposition material supporting sales and channel partner sales force effectiveness
- Experience developing competitive analysis and price benchmarking to promote products' value proposition and inform which product and service areas should be of focus.
- Strong business acumen and financial skills, with the ability to analyze and effectively interpret financial, sales, marketing, customer, and pro forma information for effective decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead by influence; collaborative, and team oriented.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
- A flexible, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; a natural bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity; ability to work in a fast-paced, private-equity sponsored environment.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related discipline. Advanced degree in management, marketing, MBA, or related field is preferred.
- Willing and able travel domestically and internationally ~25%.
