We're looking for a seasoned Product Owner to own and manage tactical execution of software development teams within our portfolio of BD software products.

The role is responsible for ensuring that our platforms have a detailed and logical evolution of capabilities that meet the needs and expectations of our customers and internal stakeholders. You will represent the voice of the Customer and internal stakeholders for the vision of various platform capabilities and services throughout the development process and convey these to the software engineering teams. This role will also work extensively with business stakeholders to understand upcoming critical initiatives that will expand or impact the scope of BD portfolio products. You will be expected to proactively work with Development teams to define requirements that incorporate these critical initiatives. You are also responsible for working with key team members from across the company to bring a voice and story to the feature requests, technical features, and new capabilities that the team will develop. You will help prioritize feature development for each product release.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the product owner for the current and upcoming release
  • Works closely with the technical product manager to understand and document customer problems and expected outcomes
  • Turns customer problems into user stories for development to implement
  • Owns the sprint backlog and collaborates with technical product manager on priority or roadblocks
  • Represents the voice of the Customer to development teams

  • Validates customer or team member outcomes are achieved early and often
  • Develop a deep knowledge of BD platforms and products and inter-connectivity
  • Become a subject matter expert on our offerings and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to identify system and user requirements
  • Drive understanding of products across the organization.

  • Mapping existing business and technical processes and data flows.
  • Ensure that all solutions have measurable outcomes.
  • Provide structured training and guidance to internal teams on how to use the Remote Support Services platform
  • Define and analyze system usage metrics
  • Manage the requirements engineering process throughout the development life cycle, eliciting, documenting, analyzing, and harmonizing non-functional software requirements.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Engineering Field or equivalent
  • 5+ years of systems analyst, business analyst, or requirements engineering work or Product Ownership

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of requirements analysis process and deliverables.
  • 3+ years working in agile software development with a strong grasp of agile principles and ceremonies

The ideal candidate will bring together a combination of strategic understanding, technology and process improvement experience, stakeholder management, and communication.
