The Team

Our product organization houses PMs, Program Managers, and Designers who work collaboratively and swiftly to deliver solutions to our clinician customers. We are at the phase of growth that requires a Program Manager to lead design operations to create capacity across the org.

The Program Management team’s mission: We empower SimplePractice teams to deliver world class clinician, client and payor experiences by driving effective and efficient execution while simultaneously cultivating an environment of high performance, collaboration and creativity.

The Role

In this role, you will report to the head of our Program Management org while remaining 100% dedicated to Design Operations, collaborating closely with the VP of Design and the manager layer he supports.

In the role of our Program Manager (Design Operations), you will report to the head of our PgM org while remaining 100% dedicated to Design org ops, collaborating closely with the VP of Design and the manager layer he supports. You’ll be responsible for creating systems, frameworks, and operating mechanisms that build the capacity for our design organization to do their part in that mission. You will support the design environments from both the Designer experience (culture) and delivery (projects) perspectives across SimplePractice and proactively identify problems, build operations, and allow designers and their managers to avoid administrative overhead and focus on what they do best: solve our customer challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • A culture catalyst with a love for crafting bonding experiences, icebreakers, virtual offsites, and overall healthy team vibes
  • Dependency mapping, project tracking, process reporting, strong accountability energy
  • Develop and implement systems, frameworks, and operating mechanisms to optimize our Design organization's performance and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align on goals and ensure timely delivery of design projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including designers, engineers, and product managers, to ensure that the Design organization is meeting company objectives
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to designers and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and growth
  • Conduct regular reviews of processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the Design organization's performance and ensure alignment with company objectives
  • Collaborate with HR to develop and implement training programs that support the growth and development of designers
  • Serve as an advocate for the Design organization, promoting best practices and driving innovation in design processes and methodologies

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in design, business, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in program management or a related field
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and delivering successful design projects
  • Experience with design thinking methodologies and user-centered design principles
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with design, documentation and project management tools such as Figma, Notion, Jira, Asana, and/or Trello
  • Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decisions
