Summary

Participate in and supply to all phases of systems development, including specification, programming, maintenance, end-user training, data conversion and testing while achieving the successful development and implementation. Deliver high-quality business systems designs, analysis, programming, and physical data modeling products on schedule, within prescribed resource limits, and in accordance with business requirements and departmental standards. Acquire a fundamental knowledge of the business sector while resolving needs. Focus on system performance, system communications and operational components of the application.

Job Responsibilities

Supply to medium size projects, own work you're leading, produce time estimates and detailed specifications, demonstrate increased business knowledge, resolve complex problems. Requires moderate direction, starts to advise others, and possesses validated knowledge of SDLC.

• Participate in all phases of system development life cycle (define program requirements, code, test, debug, and document) with moderate mentorship, following SDLC processes, application processes and quality validation (when appropriate)
• Develop time estimates for work you're doing
• Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written by either the incumbent or others
• Develop testing requirements, prepare, and document test data for unit and system testing
• Provide support for production systems using problem-solving skills to assist in resolution of business issues
• Develop analytical skills to resolve technical problems, identifying root causes for problems and proposing solutions to prevent recurring problems
• Develop business or functional knowledge by responding to and resolving increasingly sophisticated user questions, problems, and inquiries
• Develop solid grasp of the application infrastructure and SDLC

Work Environment

• In a Class II Controlled Environment which includes the following dress/gowning requirements: safety glasses or goggles, ear plugs, hairnet, beard cover, gown, shoe covers and gloves (additional PPE required when cleaning)
• Most not be allergic to Penicillin
• Must have the ability to analyze data and possess strong decision-making skills
• Intermittent exposure to extreme levels of noise
• Involves working around moving equipment parts and machinery occasionally

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of system experience in developing or supporting applications
• Bachelor's degree in computer related field
• Ability to lead projects, develop and enforce to timelines, and communicate regular updates
• Strong, structured programming skills in technologies used and experience in all phases of systems development
• Database knowledge
• Good understanding of validated or quality systems
• Technical depth or breadth in one or more systems environments and strategic technologies

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certifications preferred

Physical Requirements

• The ability to lift at least 20 pounds
• The ability to stand/walk frequently
• The ability to wear personal protective equipment correctly
