Job Summary
The Senior Project Manager will lead enterprise business and IT projects. This position interfaces with business executives, project sponsors, stakeholders, and users, both technical and non-technical staff, as appropriate for the project.
This position reports to the Director, Project Management and Program Delivery. The position interacts with all levels within the F&G organization and includes interaction with Enterprise Services, Finance, Investments, Retail, IT, Security and Risk Management, and Strategy and Architecture to accomplish the needs of a project.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute overall project management duties using industry standard project management principles and practices to support all project sponsors, users, stakeholders and the project team
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects
- Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation for projects
- Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
- Report and escalate issues or concerns of the project to management as needed
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Delegate project tasks based on staff members' individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
- Facilitate team and client meetings effectively
- Follow F&G Project Governance Structure
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years project management experience
- Experience working in a Program Management Office (PMO) environment
- Experience with Waterfall, Agile and Iterative methodologies
- Proficient in the use of PPM tools such as JIRA, Microsoft Project, WorkOtter or equivalent
- Extensive knowledge of Project Management principles, practices and processes
- Strong System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience
- Current Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification through PMI is a plus
- Current Agile certifications is a plus
- Life/annuity/insurance or financial services industry experience is a plus
- Six Sigma or Lean experience is a plus
