JOB DESCRIPTION 

A Project Manager at Vertafore works directly with clients as part of a cross-functional team, which means you need to be a proactive self-starter, able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and service-focused to help nurture the client experience. Additionally, you're a mentor and consultant. You must have exceptional communication, organizational and time management skills.

 

Core Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to educate and train clients on how to best implement and utilize the Vertafore product suite.

  • Work closely with senior management to identify the scope and direction of projects. 

  • Organize tasks, time, resources and people involved in the project. 

  • Coordinate internal staff as well as third parties to work together in a timely manner to successfully meet the project goals. 

  • Manage issues and risks that arise in projects. 

  • Monitor and report on project progress. 

  • Implement and manage change as needed. 

  • Evaluate and assess results of project. 

  • Other duties as assigned by management. 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

  • An intense passion for collaboration, facilitation, problem solving, and delighting customers 

  • Detail orientated and have a demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities with efficiency and accuracy 

  • A proven track record and ability to manage projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment 

  • Proficient with MS Office Tools 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to build rapport quickly and maintain strong relationships within and outside the organization.

  • Energetic, effectively managing relationships (up, down, across) and able to roll-up their sleeves to get the job done 

  • Can interact with development, product management, customers, and services team members to facilitate cross functional projects 

  • Hunger to learn new concepts, new technologies, and be exposed to/adopt new ideas 

  • Self-motivated and excellent problems-solvers 

  • Driven to improve, personally and professionally 

  • Love to collaborate with their peers, solving problems 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent practical practice 

  • 3+ years of work experience in a technical, customer focused environment 

  • 3+ years managing software or technical projects 

  • Have experience working in an Agile environment 

  • Have experience in the insurance industry 

  • PMP Certification is a plus, but not required 

 

 

Additional Requirements and Details:

  • Travel required up to 10% of the time

  • Located and working from an office location. 

  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.

  • Frequent repetitive hand and arm movements required to operate a computer.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision (working on a computer, etc.). 

  • Frequent sitting and/or standing.
