Job Summary:

Responsible for the management, performance and completion of larger scale single or multiple smaller scale projects involving microelectronics and associated hardware engineering development, assuring projects are completed within budget, schedule, and contract requirements, as well as achieving growth of the base contract. This role will recommend strategic improvements to the relevant directors, such as cross-alignment of projects, ways to address wider market opportunities, or improvements to corporate business processes, and then work to implement these into the development process. This position typically works under limited supervision and direction. Incumbents of this position will regularly exercise discretionary and substantial decision-making authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manages & directs projects involving extensive hardware component development
  • Acts as the primary contact for the customer.
  • Manages, oversees, monitors and approves all elements of assigned projects from inception to completion, including proposal development, product design, procurement, subcontracting, manufacturing, testing, delivery, installation and acceptance of products.
  • Reviews and approves technical approach, feasibility and cost estimates for projects.
  • Plans and directs the integration of project team members representing various functional areas within the company.
  • Conducts project coordination meetings and presents projects to senior management.
  • Plan and manage resource availability for projects such as engineering, manpower, and production efforts.
  • Participates in the marketing of new technology, developing potential new business and obtaining follow-on business in conjunction with marketing personnel.
  • Mentors producers.
  • Works with team(s) to identify, manage risks and create contingency plans.
  • Manages commercial provisions with customer, alongside contracts administrator.
  • Manages project(s) with an eye toward linking to higher level company business strategy.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field plus a minimum of 10 years project management experience or experience in a project support function (scheduling, finance)
  • PMP certification required
  • Advanced Excel Knowledge
  • Microelectronics and/or Semiconductor industry experience highly preferred
  • Must have advanced understanding and experience using Microsoft Project or Primavera in scheduling projects
  • Must have knowledge of Earned Value Management
  • Able to lead a project team
  • Must have or demonstrated negotiation, analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects with proven experience in successfully managing and implementing multiple initiatives on behalf of business partners
  • Able to lead, influence, communicate proactively and interact with people at all levels across the company as well as external partners
  • Requires focus on achieving results; persists at tasks despite difficulties. Well organized. Must have experience representing Business projects
  • Able to understand Technical systems.
  • Proven effectiveness managing project resources and prioritizing task conflicts. Must have meeting facilitation skills and leadership experience.
