Position Summary:
Develops, tracks and executes complex projects including, but not limited to commercial product development for multiple product development programs. Builds and maintains project schedules based on cross-functional inputs that follow quality management processes. Tracks and reports progress on a weekly basis, understands critical path activities and proactively works with cross functional team members to plan for on-time product delivery. Owner of the project(s) critical actions list, and risk management within project plans. May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee multiple, complex project plans that identify resource and budgetary needs from planning through delivery
- Manage full scale cross-functional project plans and teams and associated status reporting documents.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using Microsoft Project.
- Allocates resources, budgets and hours to the project adjusting as necessary, and ensures that projects remain in-scope to meet budgetary, scheduling and quality requirements.
- Host project meetings at least once a week with team and managers
- Hold daily scrum meetings with team/sub-teams
- Prepare and deliver management and executive project reports and gate meeting presentations
- Provide feedback, advice, project updates and encouragement to team members
- Manage deadlines and accountability for team meeting deadlines.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely fashion and continually manage these expectations and responsibilities with team members and stakeholders throughout the term of the project.
- Prioritize, organize and balance multiple demands and competing deadlines.
- Track and manage project milestones, deliverables and metrics. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Liases between project members, cross functional teams, external vendors and suppliers as needed
- Mentor and coach project managers and junior employeesPrepare for and lead completed formal Stage Gate and Milestone signoffs with internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate team's creation of project critical documents/processes such as test plans, FMEA's, customer requirements, and development order fulfillment.
- Coordinate and approve final product testing.
- Proactively manage changes in product and project scope.
- Ensure risk mitigation and contingency plans are developed and managed to eliminate delays in committed project completion dates.
- Coordinate activities with other business units as necessary.
- Additional duties as assigned.
- Actively engages in "Lean Business Enterprise" initiatives for continuous process improvement and waste elimination.
Position Requirements (Knowledge and Experience):
- B.A. / B.S. Business or Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in technical project management or similar role,
- High level understanding of basic needs and workflows of R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service groups.
- CPPM/PMP, Scrum or other Project management certification highly desired.
- Experienced with project development models including waterfall and Agile methods.
- Excellent written/ verbal communication skills.
- Advanced level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Desired proficiency with Asana and Oracle.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and balance multiple priorities and projects.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job as described to you for the position.
