ROLE SUMMARY

A Senior Project Manager is required to lead one or more medium to large size high impact, complex projects, involving stakeholders from numerous departments across the firm. The person will work as part of a broader program team, and in direct support of a program manager aligned with the Investment Enterprise Change Office

Individuals in this role must effectively partner with sponsors, stakeholders, and senior management to ensure the goals and objectives of the project/s are met and deliverables and business outcomes are delivered on time and with high quality. They must have good executive presence, have experience working in a matrixed organization and have demonstrated success holding people accountable to deliver even when they don't directly report to them.

The person will also need excellent communication skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, exercise good judgement and be comfortable managing all aspects of a project including developing and maintaining artifacts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management responsibilities:

  • Build excellent working relationships with teams as required.
  • Lead and facilitate project discussions and meetings, ensuring they are task oriented and objective driven to ensure the efficient use of everyone's time who are involved.
  • Escalate risks and issues to the program leadership as appropriate
  • Support management of project according to established methodology and standards.


  • Continually update relevant business stakeholders on project status and publish project status reports as and when required.
  • Represent the project in various project governance and inter-department forums.
  • Define and track project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall and integrated delivery plan.
  • Ensure the project meets success parameters and business objectives.
  • Direct medium and/or support large-scale, complex projects that may involve multiple internal and external stakeholders


  • Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts
  • Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value
  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria
  • Build, lead, and coach multiple project teams throughout project lifecycles
  • Facilitate all operational checkpoint activities throughout the lifecycle of projects


  • Assess and resolve all high priority project risks as they are encountered


QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • BS degree or equivalent experience plus
  • 8+ years of Project Management experience

Preferred

  • 8+ years of experience in Financial Services Industry
  • Investment Management industry experience
  • Experience influencing senior sponsors - 4 year minimum
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Outstanding client relationship management skills
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate and simplify complex business and technical concepts


  • Ability to work well with people with varying technical, business, and cultural backgrounds
  • Comfortable working with executive management
  • Ability to manage multiple medium and large projects
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience managing projects in a matrixed environment
  • PMP Certification
