What you will be doing in the role of a Senior QA Analyst
Sr. Quality Assurance Analyst performs testing activities of all the systems and applications within the Komen Platform & Engineering department, including vendor shared service platforms. Participates in all phases of SDLC, from Requirement analysis to Deployment/Maintenance. You will support testing needs for the Komen Health Cloud and other innovative Komen Mission products. As a Sr. QA Analyst, you will work hands-on to introduce, maintain, and execute testing methods & techniques, ensure there is comprehensive ongoing automation efforts with total focus on product quality and regulatory compliance.
The right individual will be a proactive, self-starter who will work closely with the entire project team to review the overall functional and non-functional requirements, while keeping a user's perspective in mind. Activities in this role will include analyzing non-functional requirements and technical designs, translating functional requirements into test cases, and identifying defects and driving them to resolution. Ideally, you will possess a drive for thinking creatively to resolve complex problems and enjoy contributing to solutions regardless of their functional role within a project team. Great attention to detail is a must along with a high degree of passion for testing software.
The candidate will be required to collaborate with partners, internal teams and business leaders alike to create strategically sound target state architecture & solutioning documents with emphasis on organization-wide reuse and convergence.
What you will bring to the table
- Work in Agile based projects and participate in all agile ceremonies.
- Work closely with Business teams and development to understand business requirements and technical specifications.
- Assist Product Owners/Managers in writing Acceptance Criteria(s).
- Efficiently create test plan for Komen features/products
- Create and execute detailed test cases for websites, applications, and processes using Test management tool.
- Test Data management.
- Serve as a coordinator for all testing activities on a project, including test plans written by others.
- Coordinate the testing scope with QA resources at offshore.
- Works with business owner(s) to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology and to resolve questions during the testing process.
- Drive improvement in test coverage and test effectiveness while mentoring junior team member.
- Report and track software bugs. Participate in planning and directing quality assurance schedules and assignments, and monitoring project status in comparison to cost/time projections.
- Manage testing efforts across varied projects and tasks under tight deadlines and ensure timely delivery of project.
- Organize, plan, and report with accuracy on the progress of testing as well as the readiness to deploy via Test Management tool.
- Demo the functionality to Business, Architects and Project management team.
- Recommend improvements to both product and QA process.
- Research new products and industry methodologies and provides input in the development of new concepts, techniques, and testing standards.
We already know you will also have
- 7 - 10 years' experience and a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of software development and testing processes.
- Experience developing detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Strong ability to document test cases, as well as the results of the test cases.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team of technical and non-technical individuals.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
- A drive to mentor junior engineers and develop their skills.
- Logical and critical thinker and strong problem solver.
- Manages own time effectively to perform the role and deliver tasks.
- Experience with test management tools
- Knowledge of SQL, with experience preparing & execute SQL queries.
We would love if you also have
- SDLC and Cloud computing technologies (AWS, Azure etc.)
- Knowledge of API testing (Postman or similar)
- Experience with web technologies including WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and related.
- Salesforce application experience
