About the role:
Zuora is looking for a skilled Senior Revenue Accountant to join our Revenue Accounting team. Responsibilities will include all day to day activities in the revenue process including contract review for compliance with Zuora’s revenue recognition policy, monthly revenue close, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis, and audit and SOX support. You will also participate in the deals desk process, partnering with the Sales, Contracts, Orders, and Billing teams. You also will have the opportunity to leverage the Zuora’s order-to-revenue capabilities for modern businesses. This is a critical role in a growing team and requires an exceptional performer. The successful candidate will be able to learn new processes quickly, adapt to ever-changing priorities, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively across the team and across multiple functions. This position reports directly to the Revenue Accounting Manager.
This position will be responsible for:
- Ensure that revenue is recognized in accordance with corporate policy under ASC 606.
- Stay current on revenue recognition guidance and raise interpretations of guidance with respect to company revenue policy
- Participate in all aspects of the revenue close, including creating journal entries, reconciliations, etc.
- Preparing balance sheet flux analysis for deferred revenue accounts and accounts receivable
- Analyze revenue trends and investigating variances
- Prepare external auditor deliverables
- Prepare SSP pricing studies and analysis
- Assist in establishing and monitoring the implementation and maintenance of accounting control procedures and accounting policies
- Support system implementations and maintenance
- Work closely with the quote-to-cash teams to Identify and recommend process improvements in the quote-to-revenue process.
- Support the deals desk process
- Assist in special projects.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of revenue recognition experience, preferably with Big 4 Public Accounting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA or CPA-eligible preferred)
- Knowledge of revenue recognition US GAAP
- Experience using Zuora and RevPro is a plus
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Detailed-oriented with excellent analytical skills
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office software, including Excel, Word, Google Apps and PowerPoint
- Software as a Service (SaaS) and NetSuite experience is a plus
- Must have a team-oriented work ethic, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt in an environment where change is the norm
